Your skin may still be pale following Bloodborne's punishing campaign, but sources have told VG247 that Dark Souls III will be announced at E3 2015 next month. The sequel – which may debut during Sony's press conference – will apparently be directed by creator Hidetaka Miyazaki, which is a surprise considering that he just wrapped up work on the aforementioned PlayStation 4 exclusive. However, if this is true, we wouldn't expect it to release until at least Holiday 2016.
Bandai Namco is the publisher of the Souls series, so it's likely that this will be a multiformat release like its predecessors. However, with the role-playing game crowd very much on PlayStation these days, it's reasonable to expect Sony to put its finger-prints all over this purported product. With downloadable content for Bloodborne confirmed to be in production, this does seem like strange timing. Having said that, we reckon that we're just about ready to die all over again.

Unexpected! I can believe this rumour, though...
I'd love for this to be true, but I can't see it happening yet.
I'm missing the PS4 exclusive part in that headline
Welp make it console exclusive, if MS can try it with TR then Sony should with DSIII
If Miyakazi is on this, I'm definitely getting it! I thought Dark Souls 1 & Bloodborne were amazing games! Dark Souls 2 though.... Ugh.
This could quite easily be true seeing as Bloodborne has been done & dusted for months, it's also not uncommon for dev teams to be working on more than one project at once. It's likely in early stages of development & hopefully using there new engine, late 2016 or early 2017. Hopefully its true & we will get an announcement at E3.
Seems too soon after Bloodborne. And since that was PS4 exclusive, DS III should be multiplat.
@sinalefa I think so too, with a steady stream of content for Bloodborne I can see myself playing it in 2016.
