Sony's a fast worker, isn't it? The revised PlayStation 4 – which is a teensy bit lighter and a little less power hungry – was only announced a couple of days ago, but it's already on sale in Japan right now. The ever eagle-eyed DualShockers spotted various product listings for the CUH-1200 series on several Japanese websites, where it's available in both Jet Black and Glacier White guises.
The site speculates that the platform holder may be rolling out the new unit gradually, as many other retailers – including the Japanese giant's own online store – aren't currently stocking the spruced up system. In all likelihood, the manufacturer will probably need to run down its existing inventory before supplying stores with the new stock.
Given how poorly the PS4's selling in Japan right now, it should have sold out of the launch units within the next decade or so...

Was just thinking wasn't the ps4 under performing in Japan then I read that last bit 😉
Not really the ideal market to launch it in at this point but then Japan did get the raw deal when ps4 originally released
If it runs cooler than my PS4 ie makes less noise I'd be tempted to trade mine in towards it. I've had two PS4's since launch and both are way louder than my XB1. I know the XB has a larger fan so it can fun slower and more room for air flow but on some games on PS4 it can get fairly loud at times. Most of my friends PS4's get loud too. Playing Planetside 2 makes the PS4 get very loud. The Witcher 3 gets loud, though not as bad as when playing Planetside.
Nice. My only complaint about the ps4, is the fan noise. Hope it boast sales in japan.
Everybody says the PS4 isn't selling well in Japan, but to be fair the Xbox One sold 100 consoles in the same week... Makes the 10,000 PS4s seem a bit less disappointing.
100:1 seems like an optimistic ratio to me!
Wow that all matte finish does look nice, I just wish they would use the old school PS Logo on it. I'll stick with my launch day PS4 and wait for the slim to come out.
