Wii U exclusive ZombiU was rumoured to be in production for the PlayStation 4 prior to E3 2015, but Ubisoft's press conference failed to kick out confirmation. Now, however, a listing for a title named Zombi has infected the Australian ratings boards – and it's published by the aforementioned French firm. Surely this is no coincidence.
The game is actually only listed for the Xbox One at the moment, which could hint at shenanigans seeing as the classifications company generally lists multiformat games as just that. Of course, it's also possible that a potential PS4 version has yet to pass through certification yet; it seems highly unlikely that Microsoft would pucker up the funds to ensure "exclusivity" for a franchise this niche.
Either way, assuming that this does come to Sony's machine, it's going to be really interesting to see how it operates on non-Nintendo hardware; the original was, of course, built around the features and functionality of the Game Pad. We know that the PS4 can use the PlayStation Vita as a controller – but we doubt that Ubisoft would take advantage of that. After all, if this port does come to fruition, the publisher will presumably be looking to make back its initial investment – and it won't do that by mandating compatibility with the Japanese giant's unpopular portable.

This game was ok, but without the gamepad there're a lot of better games.
Why a port of the first? Why not make a next gen sequel that takes advantage of PS4 and Xbox One's power?
@JesWood13 Seeing as the original barely sold I doubt they're committed to investing in a full sequel yet.
@get2sammyb Well according to VGChartz it sold about 850k. Undertracked or over tracked, I don't think it "barely sold"
I actually quite liked this game. The perma-death feature always kept me on edge! It's too bad it didn't sell to their expectations because it really is good!
One thing that made me laugh is when you look at lights and the screen looked dirty, people complained so much about that; Yet other games can do the exact same thing and get praise. We gamers are so fickle sometimes. X3
So it's now only called err Zombi...
I also thought the game was quite enjoyable, looking forward to seeing what happens with this
It'd be nice to think they don't get overly greedy, and that this ends up as a budget title on the PlayStation Store. At the right price point, this'll be a bargain well worth picking up, even for someone that's already played it.
More likely, they'll bust it out as a brand new title, polish up the graphics and pass it off as being worth $60, and then will be surprised when it tanks.
If MS wants to pay for exclusivity on this, it's one time I wouldn't mind. Keep this garbage away from the PS4. I'd also like to see it kept away from Xbox One but if MS wants to waste money, whatever. It has more than enough to do so.
I bought it on Amazon for 14 bucks so I'll enjoy it on the system it's meant to he played for.
@XFsWorld VGChartz is nonsense, though. I'm sure it did okay, but they mentioned they didn't break even on it.
I played this round a friends house and didn't enjoy it at all. Why Ubisoft think its a good idea to bring a mediocre zombie to PS4 & XB1 is beyond me. If they wanted to port ZombiU over they should have done it when the PS4 & XB1 had very few games. With so many top games due out over the next few months I can't see it making many sales.
What they should do is, release it via PSN and Xbox Live and sell it for £20. That way they may see a return as more people would probably feel its worth a try for £20. If they ask for £40 or more I don't think it will sell.
@WARDIE
It shouldn't sell at $20 either.
@get2sammyb Vgchartz is inaccurate but it still gives you an idea on how well games sale. I'm sure it broke even by now, Ubi said that a while ago.
@get2sammyb I remember them saying at first that it sold well and met expectations, then they basically 180'd that when Wii U sales started to dwindle.
They don't make games just to break even... I don't see it selling enough to be worth it.
ZombiU or Dying Light? Hmmm.. Such a hard choice.. NOT. Ubisoft is wasting their money
I dunno, this title is like Dark Soul isn't it
Games like Bloodborne and Dark Soul is really not for me...
Why is this a thing?
