After the ridiculous drama that went down this week, Daybreak Game Company is starting to get its games' servers back online. Although PlanetSide 2 is still unplayable for many, H1Z1 appears to be back in working order. However, there's a lot more than video games going on right now. John Smedley, the CEO of Daybreak, has been a restless target of Lizard Squad's harassment – and it's only getting worse.
Today, the group of hackers, who claim responsibility for December's major PlayStation Network outage, offered a reward to anyone who would deface Smedley's father's gravestone. Oh, and while they were at it, they went ahead and posted the address, social security number, and banking information of one of his employees.
Forgive us if we seem a bit rash, but when a group of self-proclaimed hackers calls in a bomb threat, takes down two major online networks, and even has a member who refers to himself as a cyber-terrorist, it's probably time to stop calling them misguided tykes.

This is getting rather absurd. Smed's ego did not help at all in this situation.
Hopefully these hackers get caught and thrown in the pin soon.
There needs to be a punishment that fits the crime. Prison time and then 20yr probation with surveillance of any computer activities might teach them
@Clay_Davis83
I say if a person is a self-professed terrorist, and not just in name but in deed as well, treat them like one. I would have the United States counterterrorism agency tracking these guys down and toss them in Guantánamo Bay.
See if they still want to call themselves terrorists then.
@JaxonH Well said. The lack of any real punishment for the one member who was caught just encourages them. Why worry, if they get caught nothing is going to happen to them.
@ryanorly there twitter accounts have been banned countless times they just create a new one after
@ryanorly Your right and wrong, as a ceo he shouldn't have publicly lambasted them with "I'm coming to get you" however they brought his plane down, have put 40 credit applications in his name, threatened his family and took his games offline.
I dont really know Lizard squads agenda but this kind of behaviour needs to stop. Credit fraud of this nature at least should be a 6-12 month sentence, bomb threats should be 6-12 years and harassment should be a caution to 10 years dependant on the severity. What are these people trying to achieve?
Low quality video, and if someone has a better link please let me know, but this system would be so sweet: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BtPL77t5HvQ
Let's keep those kind of thoughts to ourselves next time please. Thanks -Tasuki-
What do they expexct, the one that they could have made an example with they didn't do anything too.
They are a real classy bunch, this is sure to impress the ladies. There's no way these guys will remain virgins after this.....
Some other hacker's should form an anti Lizard Squad hacking group and subject these little scumbag's parent's to the exact same thing that Lizard Squad subject their victim's to. Something tell's me that would hit home more than any crappy punishment they don't take notice of.
50,700 convictions - no prison time. 'Nuff said.
@themcnoisy - I agree with that, plus other people are quick to say the CEO should quit taunting them and it's his ego that needs to be in check, when all this man has had to endure at the hands of this group that's crazy, anyone would hit their breaking point.
Yet people here and everywhere want to complain like it's the end of the world when hackers take down both Sony and Microsoft's network. It just seems so much hypocrisy in comparison, gaming network down-(no multiplayer gaming), father's grave desecrated, family's life threatened, credit destroyed, your source of money and lively hood constantly toyed with and threatened, and all of this nonstop regardless of anything you say or don't say......anyone would crack up....it makes "us" all look like a bunch of whiners in comparison.
Sorry but encouraging people to deface a man's grave is just low. This goes beyond trolling or pranks now. Smedley may not have handled this too well but can anyone really blame him? Poor bloke. This isn't going to end well.
@Johnnycide -Yeah right, it's not going to end well, but I can think of "lesser things" that would make me want to put my hands on somebody physically than having my "own father's" grave desecrated.
Man that just blows my mind at how low some people can get.......why.....?
@ryanorly that's a load of crap, you have no idea how mentally stressful those jobs can actually be. "Have no place in throwing tantrums" last I heard everyone is human here besides you which is obviously perfect. O.o
In which case, this shows nothing more then lizard squad being bullies, that's all. They are screwing everyone else over for their own amusement and in no way do they even give a rats ass about anyone elses well being...FACT.
I hope they end up rotting in jail.
They weren't the first and they won't be the last, it only gets worse from here.
"The Batman has to come back"
I find it all a bit tedious, 2 year suspended sentence is lovely bit of encouragement to many an a hole.
There's one group of people to blame here and one only and that's the authorities. I'm not condoning what these little scumbags are doing, however, it's clear they're not going to stop and when the authorities let them get away with sh*t it only strengthens their resolve. They had a chance to make an example and blew it. Pathetic.
Sony it's time to call in the Yakuza maybe that will calm them down. These Kids should be taken trail and be convicted as adults this is beyond kids playing.......
