Assassin's Creed Syndicate was out in force at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, fighting against austerity for the poor people back in the UK. Actually, that's a lie β Ubisoft was merely showing off the latest entry in its stealth series in order to secure a few more pre-orders. Rather than demo some new gameplay footage, however β why would it do that? β it opted for an animated short instead.
To be fair, the clip is pretty cool. It's been directed by Universal Pictures bigwig F. Gary Gray and illustrated by LucasFilm-certified comic book artist Pop Mhan, and it shows the origins of organised crime under the lead of sibling freedom fighters Jacob and Evie Frye. It's well worth a watch if you're a fan of the franchise. Of course, the company can show as many shorts as it likes, but if the game sucks like Unity, then this may well be curtains for the brand.

Looking forward to this from a geographical point of view, having lived by the river in Southwark for years,..
My one concern was that Ubi's actors were gonna be all Guy Rich Tea style, well spoken people trying a London accent, seems like i'm sadly right, going by this...
Still hopefully it will be better in game... No point going for authentic, if not done correctly...
Even though I kind of enjoy the Assassin's Creed games to a degree, I've never been a massive fan (aside from Black Flag, which I actually really enjoyed) and have yet to finish one. One thing I do dislike is the annual release Ubisoft choose to do with the series. You never really get time to miss the series, unlike other major games, which release every few years.
I must admit though (and much to my surprise) I am actually quite looking forward to the next iteration, which is probably because its based in London, which is where I lived for a couple of years.
Im looking forward to learning some of the history, which is something I actually like about these games. Im also looking forward to seeing how good it will actually look and play since they've now had plenty of time with the Unity engine and should have hopefully learnt from the mistakes made from the previous game.
I actually believe Assassin's Creed Syndicate is actually going to be one of the best in the series, but I still won't be picking it up day one.
There are so many top AAA's due out over the next few months I can happily wait and see what happens on the release of ACS. Besides, my most anticipated games this year are Fallout 4 and Metal Gear Phantom Pain.
Infact, aside from my top two games I mentioned above, im still really looking forward to Mass Effect 4, Mad Max, Starwars Battlefront and a good few others that have slipt my mind due to the ungodly hour it is as I wright this comment.
On topic though, I actually hope this Assassin's Creed Syndicate is a massive success, even if I choose not to pick it up because I'll probably be addicted to Fallout 4. Because if this Assassin's Creed fails like Unity did I can't see anyone giving the series another chance.
Maybe Ubisoft should start making pirate games given how good Black Flag was. I have friends who can't stand the Assassin's Creed games, but they loved Black Flag.
P.S Sorry for the long comment which was probably riddled with bad spelling and grammar. I am finding hard to keep my eyes open. Im now off to Bedfordshire ZZZzzz
You know how these games always have more than one city in them? If this has Liverpool as a playable area I will buy this day one.
Great time period that I hope they do justice to.
