For the first time ever, Batgirl is going to be playable in Warner Bros.' Batman: Arkham franchise. The latest and final instalment in the critically acclaimed Rocksteady trilogy, Batman: Arkham Knight, is getting a story add-on that puts you in the cape of the aforementioned heroine.
Entitled 'Batgirl: A Matter of Family', the downloadable content will be available on the 14th of July, and, of course, will be free for season pass holders. Those who didn't put the cash down for said season pass will have to part with $6.99.
Looking forward to playing as Batgirl? Dive from a rooftop and kick a goon right in the chops in the comments section below.

Much cheaper than I expected. I'll wait and see what people say about it but I'm imaging for that price maybe an 1 1/2 hours of gameplay depending on if you rush things or not.
It is cheaper than I expected but I have a feeling its going to be similar to Harley Quinns Story and probably last as long too....If that's the case (and its not like Harley Quinns Revenge) then NO WAY will I pay money for it!
@BAMozzy
I think you're right and I wouldn't pay a penny for something like that, let alone $7. Hope to be proven wrong because Batgirl is a great character and I've been wanting them to work her into this series but it seems it will be halfa$$ed.
It can't possibly be as short as the Harley Quinn story. I'm looking forward to it as it'll be set before the Arkham games given that it's Barbara so hopefully may lead into the Killing Joke. Also I read somewhere it's been made by the Montreal studio and not Rocksteady. Got my season pass, mainly because of the PayPal offer so essentially got £10 off 😀
There's one important detail left off the article that might interest you, the DLC is been made by WB Montreal the devs behind Arkham Origins not Rocksteady.
@adf86 That puts me off even more....
Can't say I'm thrilled with that news either. The only positive I can find is that since it wasn't done at Rocksteady it may mean a longer episode.
@Gamer83 Batgirl is in the main story. Her suit is even one of the riddler solutions. Obviously not playable but central. There are several references to the events from the killing joke, and it is clear that the trilogy takes place after those events so they can't really make her playable in the main story. It has to be an origins type timeline.
That said, I hope they do the dlc well. If not, still some fun smash em up.
It's quite a bit longer then the Harley and Red Hood DLC's, it is not just a series of 3 rooms like those 2, it has explorable environments with hidden things to destroy. All this information and more can be gathered just by looking at the trophies. Also Origins was a good game just not as good as City, Asylum was great but really different to the others so won't compare that, basically what I'm saying is most people didn't even give Origins a chance, Origins is heavily referenced in Knight so all fans should play it and give the devs a chance. I will bet that the Batgirl DLC will be the best Arkham DLC yet , higher quality than Cold Cold Heart and Harley's Revenge
@GamingPenguin
Plenty of people gave Origins a chance. It isn't bad but it's one of the weaker entries in the Arkham series.
@Gamer83 I said it wasn't as good as the rest of the series, also what I mean is plenty of people also dismissed it straight away due to it being a different dev, there are tons of Arkham fans who skipped it. Origins actually had a good story and some very memeroable moments. Also the way you investigate crime scenes is pretty much copied into Arkham Knight, so it even brought mechanics to the series. Really the main thing is A Matter Of Family will definitely be worth a chance.
@GamingPenguin
On story I'd probably rank Origins above City, I'll give it that. Still, I've played plenty of $5.99-$7.99 DLC and it usually isn't worth sh*t. I'm taking a wait and see approach. Not dismissing it entirely because like I said, Batgirl is awesome, so I want this to turn out well.
@Gamer83 Well DLC is hardly ever great value for money I agree there, only DLC that has good time to cost ratio tends to be for RPG games but then the main game is a lot longer too, so possibly unfair to compare. That's why quality is important and I just hope even though it's a low cost and will likely be fairly short (not super short like Harley and Redhood DLCs) I am hoping the story, environments and new style of gameplay wil make it worthwhile. As I said the trophies reveal some of the gameplay and it does sound interesting, the hidden trophies are likely story spoilers so I haven't looked into those. Anyway here's hoping it's worth its price so more people give it a go without waiting for a discount, the really worry is I thought this would be the most expensive DLC for the game, having trouble working out how the other season pass content is worth so much lol.

@GamingPenguin
Yeah, with this being $6.99 I'm interested in what the costlier DLC will be as well. But as far as this episode goes, the good news is we don't have to wait for long to see if it's worth a purchase.
Think i'll be waiting for a season pass sale way off in the future and then revisit the game and play it all at once. $40 is just too high a price point.
