We'll let you into a little secret here: interviewing big developers is hard. With so many other publications in the world, it's almost impossible to land a lengthy chat with a AAA team – and when the opportunity does arise, there'll almost always be a public relations person waiting to shut down every other question that you ask. That's a shame, because many developers have interesting stories to share.
But it's also what makes this inaugural episode of Conversations with Creators interesting. Don't get us wrong, this Wil Wheaton hosted show is clearly a thinly disguised commercial for upcoming PlayStation titles, but this episode does offer a little insight into the creation of Destiny and its upcoming expansion pack The Taken King that you don't usually get. For that reason, it's worth a watch.

I watched until 14:33.
@SouthTippBass As far as YouTube videos go, watching for almost 15 minutes is practically a lifetime.
Destiny the taken king.
Should be renamed Destiny the tills go kerching.
I'm happy with the base pack, havnt even finished all of that yet. Might upgrade in two expansions time similar to the way I buy yearly franchise games. Once every 2-3 years.
Hopefully the Taken King will not lock you out of content if you don't buy it at first, like the way it's super hard to get Etheric Light if you don't own the DLC for example.
Are these just ads for whatever dev team is on the show's most recent game? If anyone could let me know before I waste my oh-so-valuable minutes... Hahaha
I laughed when he said "massive realms". If thats how he describes Destiny than there are no words to describe No Man's Sky
@WanderingBullet I'm a Destiny fan, not sure I'll pick up Taken King on release date, it just depends how busy I am with other games at the time I suppose. But having played 100+ hours of Destiny, I'd be really impressed if No Mans Sky can hold me for that long. My point is the size of the game isn't a really big deal, it's what it's filled with that counts. Bungie keep adding content so it's only getting better, of course it's down to the individual to decide if they are being ripped off. Its a bit of a shame Activision are involved though as I'm sure they are the reason for most of its problems, having said that they are bringing the money so perhaps a necessary evil.
I hear you and I play Destiny a lot as well but I do feel the cons outweigh the pros. I like the good gunplay and graphics in this game but to say massive realms is kinda exaggerating. I know Bungie has a 10 year plan for Destiny but we're not even one year into this game and it seems like they're already running out of ideas. There are too many re-skinned gears and weapons and not to mentioned re-used areas/maps in this game as well. Prison of Elders is quite a boring end-game mission - not much mechanics involved apart from the random mods that don't even alter the way we approach the fights that much. Crota's End on the other hand, was a broken raid because people were cheesing it from start till end pretty much during the first week after it was launched. VoG is still the best among three.
Am I the only one that noticed that at about 11:11, design director Luke Smith says that he worked on the raids in "Destiny One"? Am I mishearing that?
Is it to late to petition a sharknado movie marathon instead of this schlock?
