It's been quite some time since the previous episode of Life Is Strange released – and what a cruel cliff-hanger developer DONTNOD left us on – so it's probably time we got an update on the Parisian outfit's progress with Episode 4. Fortunately, it's confirmed that while the new instalment won't be arriving this week as expected, it's currently applying the finishing touches to the penultimate outing as we type.
While there was a lot of scepticism surrounding this series after the slightly shaky writing in the first instalment, even our reviewer Graham Banas has warmed up to it of late. And despite the season not being over yet, the developer's been scooping up awards at the Develop Conference this week. If the story goes where we think it's going, then it deserves them – this is turning into a real sleeper hit right now.

i absolutely love this game! cant wait to enjoy the rest!
This is on my backlog. Not because I am procrastinating, but because I'd rather buy a full game when all's said and done.
@Gmork___ Yeah, it's been ace so far. It's almost like they made a game tailored to my personal tastes... XD
I'm waiting till they have a sale on the season pass
For this episodic structure to really succeed, timely release needs to improve. Imagine if the same "not this week, maybe next" approach was applied to any big TV shows, I doubt people would stick around.
It's also strange that streaming services such as Netflix now release full seasons of shows, ditching the episode drip feed that is becoming more widely used in gaming.
But then Life is Strange...
yep same here sammy. its exciting to think what dontnod will do next. would love if they kept it going. maybe made a new story with new charcters but in the same world.
@stevejcrow TV shows are entirely different thing, that only take less work but are also usually filmed in bulk months in advance, for things to be the way you want them they would have to finish the whole game and release it but by bit, which would be frowned upon heavily.
The challenges may be different but I'd disagree that it takes less work. And would the number of people who frown upon having several episodes of the game 'in the bank " outweigh the number of people who hold off on buying the product until all episodes are released?
I just feel the planning of episodic games needs tweaking. If you know what you're paying for and when it will be released, you can't complain. Just choose whether to buy it not.
Just finished Episode 3 and loved the dramatic ending... really looking forward to number 4.
There were some great time mechanic techniques in the last ep. Can't wait.
I can use time travel to unspill drinks and pet squirrels but don't want to stop that person from dying because travelling that far back in time might give me a headache and a nose bleed.
Probably going to die of alcohol poisoning watching broteams next life is dranks stream.
I hope they make this game for the vita.
@DualWielding its on sale atm think its £11/12 ish
