What do you get when you cross Minecraft with Dragon Quest? The license to print money, that's what. Square Enix showed the first gameplay footage from its block busting caper during a livestream today, and while it's wearing its influences proudly on its sleeve, we're really liking the look of this one.
In the footage, we see the robed main character building a tavern from bricks and materials, while also wandering some enemy infested open plains. The art style looks great, and if it offers a more structured take on the Minecraft formula, we reckon that this could be right up our alley. The game's coming to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and Vita.

@GraveLordXD Yeah, I'm sold. Way better than expected.
O_o this looks awesome!!!!
@get2sammyb Any chance this makes it west on PS3? I'm still bummed about Heros. And single player Godzilla.
@rjejr If Heroes PS3 ver didn't make it to the west, don't expect anything else to come. Time to upgrade buddy.
@rjejr Yeah, looking at Heroes, I'd say it's unlikely. It's not impossible, of course, but I'm not sure why they'd bring over the PS3 version of this one if they're not bothering with the other.
I'm actually excited for this, which is odd since I hate Minecraft.
@Riririn @get2sammyb - B/c Minecraft? Seems more kid friendly than Heroes. And it's getting a Vita version. I don't think PS3 will get DX 10 or 11, just this Lego Worlds game.
I'll be passing on this game, not interested.
Love the mix of blocky & curvy polygons...
So much wonderful Dragon Quest news! I want them all!
