Upcoming space shooter Galak-Z clearly takes inspiration from various Japanese anime - especially the ones that include sci-fi spaceship battles and big lasers. It's always seemed a bit baffling, then, that there have been no mechs or robots in sight.
However, that's all changed with the reveal of the title's very own playable mech. Get past a certain point in the game, and your ship will be able to transform into this humanoid mode, complete with beam sword and a grappling mechanic.
17-Bit's Galak-Z is set to launch in the next couple of months, but has this piqued your interest? Engage your boosters and slam a meteorite into the comments section below.

Interest rising...
This looks really good I'll be definitely getting if it turns out good, which I think it will.
Would happily take a patlibor or evangelion game right now or with everything crossed dw gundam 4 ps4.
Hyped for this, grabbed it at the 20% off pre order deal. Early exposure to Voltron only made it an easier choice.
I thought this might be a contender for the IGC, and if so I'll be very pleased.
Anyone seen the E3 vid with Shuhei Yoshida and this game? It's boss. The guy is really excited about it. Anyway I'll be picking this up at some point! Mechs, space, shooting and retroism is right up my alley!
17-Bit have already proven to be a great studio. Skulls of the Shogun was fantastic (even if it was criminally underplayed) and I was going to get Galak-Z day one. This just gave me another reason to!
Pre ordered with the discount.
Pretty hyped for this.
Almost never pre order anything.
Cut scene art looks like it may be a bit disappointing.
Been hooked by the looks of the gameplay since video one though.
This mech feature makes me extra excite.
