The blockbuster round-a-bout may be taking a break ahead of Christmas, but there are more than enough budget titles to hold your interest this week. Journey is the obvious highlight this time around, but if you've already played thatgamecompany's poetic escapade on your PlayStation 3, then Hatoful Boyfriend may be worth a beady look, too.
Pick of the Week: Journey
It's tough to not sound like a hipster nit when describing Journey, but this is a game that should be played by everyone – even those without moustache wax. A two hour adventure that's sublime from start to finish, thatgamecompany's critically acclaimed adventure does what it says on the tin: it takes you on an epic voyage through various emotions, culminating in a crescendo of ultimate empowerment.
In truth, it's tough to convey the brilliance of this release in a couple of paragraphs – you should just play it. This new-gen port promises more polished visuals, so if you've never played it before, you may as well do so in 1080p. And for those of you that are familiar with the foray's scorching sands, then know that it'll be cross-buy compatible, meaning that if you bought it on the PS3 – well, you already own on it on Sony's rhombus-shaped system.

Hatoful Boyfriend!!!!
@AyeHaley LMAO! Is this game going to actually be any good?
There's been no sign of Journey on the Euro PSN yet and dissapointed that we don't seem to be getting the deal that the US have with GalakZ etc.
I hope the Journey theme will be available to buy on the store over here!
@get2sammyb It is a brilliant and super weird game where you date birds, of course it will be good
I recommend not watching video of Journey. Just play it...
@AyeHaley I'm still not convinced. Haha, it's a funny premise, though!
If pigeon dating has a big fat discount I'm not sure I'll be able to resist.
@get2sammyb
While quickly scanning the front page I read: "hateful boyfriend", which made me think of a Chris Brown Simulator of some sorts.
@Boerewors Oh snap :x
Tembo the Badass Elephant look's like some old school meets new school fun.
If I get any games at all this month, it will definitely be Journey and Vanishing of Ethan Carter. I've gotta try and save a bit of money for the upcoming fall semester to rent most or all of my books, plus all the fall AAA games I'm looking to purchase.
@get2sammyb It's a typical visual novel where you date pigeons,but I have heard it does take rather dark turns in it's plot. Sounds like an edge of your seat trill ride
@Lateralus68 Yeah the "PLAY" deal is a U.S. only promotion sadly.
Journey and the SF5 beta will be good fun for me... Although, I thought I'd have my key for the beta by now. Anyone know when exactly we should expect them today?
@B3ND3R Haven't heard anything, sadly.
@get2sammyb I'm dyin here xD
Looking forward to playing through Journey again later on this week. It demands to be played in one sitting, and it's even better if you manage to stay with the same online random throughout.
Tembo the Badass Elephant for me,
Tembo, Journey, and Q.U.B.E Directors Cut for me
