Looks like it's definitely, definitely happening, folks. As speculated over the weekend, Dragon Quest XI is set to be announced tomorrow morning at 09:00AM UK time via a livestreamed Japanese presentation. How do we know? Well, thanks to a bit of digging courtesy of Gematsu, the publication's managed to uncover the game's logo.
As you can see from the embedded picture, despite being of a low resolution, it clearly says Dragon Quest XI, while the subtitle apparently translates to 'In Search of Departed Time'. Of course, there's still no guarantee that Square Enix's property will jump to a certain PlayStation platform, but we'd be shocked if it didn't.

If it's not for Ps4, I'm gonna... Jdjsudnsnsgs
Better be PS4.
It better be on the PS4 and has a Western release.
It would be awsome europe with PS4. My last 1 was on the PS2.
@BLPs We prefer to have a constant flow of news rather than updating old articles. Purely an editorial choice on our part.
I really hope it's coming to ps4, because the last time I got to play dragon quest was VIII on ps2, and that's just too long ago for my liking. I'm really hoping this isn't yet another Dragon quest game for Nintendo console, PlayStation it's due for another entry.
I think Dragon Quest should stay on the NDS/3ds systems. The stories are not that different then there SNES counter-part so why ruin things already.
Also that picture is from DQII, which I own for the Famicom....tee-hee-hee.
The title appears to be more in line with a handheld release, but as you said it is a low quality copy. Here's to hoping it gets a US ps4 release.
@RegalSin I suppose the primary reason is that DQVIII is arguably the best title in the series and it was a PS2 exclusive. Showing what the series could do on a modern home gaming console was an absolute blast.
Personally I'd much rather see a triumphant return to the big screen for the main DQ series than a version on a 3DS system that is now hopelessly underpowered compared to the competition. Sure I'd love a Vita version, but Squenix will want this to be huge.
PS4 is the only answer, in that respect.
Never played Dragon Quest. Hope it comes to PS4. But I could see it coming to 3DS.
@JaredJ
Me too, 3DS would have been a solid contender, if not for the fact Square Enix is announcing this.
If it were for 3DS it would be announced in a Nintendo Direct (most likely)
If you love RPGs, you owe it to yourself to play DQ, all of them. Or as many as you can get your hands on. If it weren't for DQ, we wouldn't have Final Fantasy or anything like it. And RPGs as a whole would have stayed niche on PC only.
@Riririn Is the DS remake of IV a good starting point? It's the only game in the series that I currently own.
@Storytime7 I'd say any of the DS remakes are good ways to start off. There's also a fan translated SNES version, of DQ3. That one seems to be Japan's favourite. The original ( 16-bit ver ) never came out in English so feel free to download it or get a JP copy for 3-5 bucks if you must. That won't be in English tho. Then I'd also recommend the PS2 game, 8 or Cursed king.
@Riririn Good to hear IV is a decent entry point in the series. I'll most likely play V afterwards if I like IV. VIII is another one I've been interested in playing for a while now, but I'm waiting to see how the 3DS version turns out. Assuming it even gets localized.
@WanderingBullet It must also have English audio/voices too...
@ToddlerNaruto I'm good with just English subtitles - the main thing for me is getting a Western release.
@WanderingBullet To each their own regarding that.
(I personally can't play games that lack english voices)
