Destiny: The Taken King's got a launch trailer, and it's actually pretty good. Alongside plenty of predictable explosions spliced into fast paced gameplay clips, there's an emphasis on cinematics here, which is clearly something that Bungie's eager to show off.
We already know that your Guardian's Ghost is being re-voiced in its entirety by Nolan North - presumably giving the narratives of existing missions a little more kick - and that the upcoming expansion will supposedly sport a more engaging plot. We're all ears, then, as Destiny clearly has a good amount of lore behind it, and we've been waiting for the shooter to pluck it out from beneath all of those damn Grimoire cards. Let's hope that the add-on does a decent job when it launches next month, eh?

I always felt bad for Destiny's story. The lore is there, and its fascinating and some of the stories are incredibly well-written, but they've buried it underneath that inconvenient and pointless Grimoire system.
They've tried to create an almost Dark Souls-esque narrative, and they've done a pretty good job of it, but they executed it so poorly that most people missed it entirely.
If they attached the lore entries to inventory items like they do in Dark Souls instead of making you ex out the game and go to a cometely separate website I think it would have gone a long way to silencing some of the games critics
@ThomasOlano86 that and the completely broken levelling system and lack of any substantial rewards in the story mode.
I did really enjoy this game despite the pathetic story because the actual game play is amazing and I had a great time with it for quite a while, it's just trapped in an endless and soulless grind which wore me down. It does appear a lot of these issues have finally being corrected with The Taken King and I would have been tempted had it not being for the attitude of one of the games directors in a well documented interview and it being farcially expensive for people who have already paid for existing content, whilst newcomers can essentially get it for free in the complete edition.

Lame lame lame. Whenever I hear Zeppelin used like this I cringe. Its like some suit in marketing said, yeah the kids still like the LED Zeppelins right? Yeah just use them. I freakin hate it. Couldn't watch this cringy lazy trailer to the end.
The complaints about the story I get. I never understood the complaints about the levelling system though. The game is WoW - get more gear to do harder stuff to get more gear to do harder stuff to get even more gear .... etc. They just formalized that into a number.
Further, I find it actually super predictable and easy to level a character all the way to 32 solo (obv 34 needs friends or IB event). Basically like any MMO, get rep (easy, farmable, predictable), get tokens (very easy, predictable), buy gear (vendors in town!), done.
@carlos82 like Mega-Gazz said, I've never understood the argument against its rewards and grind heavy gameplay. As I understand it, the game is built to be essentially a console MMO, so I went into it expecting lots of grind and little, incremental rewards.
I'm like you though, I played it for a while when it came out, really enjoyed it, then put it down and didn't look at it again for almost a year. I literally started playing it again two days ago. I enjoy it, but I don't know much about MMO style games so I'm certainly not qualified to speak too much about the mechanics of it all.
I just felt like some people were ready to hate it no matter what, but I suppose with a project this big and financially successful that's to be expected
My feeling is the interview with Luke whoever did brand damage, but worse than that asking people to pay 40 pound or more country depending for an expansion when metal gear solid out same point equals sales suicide.
I have over 1200 hours destiny play time total and I was done couple months ago at this price with one new area and a delayed raid eh
I'll be missing this till price falls and I dont feel like I'm being fecked and being asked to say thank you and pAy for it.
Also think bundles released are joke I was destiny biggest fan but this exsp is wrong on too many levels
@Spooke2k 1200 hours? No wonder you are done with it :/
I did everything I could do collected everything available I enjoyed raiding a lot , but like I said one new area for price of a new game is not too much
I for one, am pretty hyped. I love when they use 'Zeppelin songs. Two of my favorite things . I never needed a lot of story from this game, but when I beat the story I was like "that's it?!". If it's getting a lot more, that can only help, I assume.
Ever since I learned the whole story (spoiler), like how the Traveler is actually a bad thing that creates the Vex and how there was originally more places on earth to go to and meet interesting characters that actually seem cool and how the end was supposed to involve breaking into the Traveler and killing it.... I can only hope these will be added in the future.
What is "plot"? Is it important?
