Even in the times before Dragon Quest discovered voice acting, the series' localised script was always adapted into the many accents of the British Isles. From geordie to Welsh and Scottish to cockney, it's one of the franchise's most refreshing aspects, especially since we're so used to hearing typically American tough guys blurting rubbish through our televisions.
Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree's Woe and the Blight Below isn't shirking away from its duty to represent our island home, either, as its newest trailer features some voice acting that sounds more English than the Queen herself. Seriously, most of the accents on display here would make Keira Knightley blush. In any case, the video shows off the action role-playing game's character roster, which includes familiar faces from past games in the series, like the lovable Yangus.

Ugh just seems all wrong
This is so weird, but I love the accent at the same time hahaha
I love it! Of course, it's not ALL British. Kiryl sounds delightfully Russian.

Are you sure about that? The first Dragon Quest to come out in the UK and Europe was Dragon Quest VIII. That was the first one to have voice acting as well. I might be wrong, but going off memory I don't think VII or before had any sort of accented Britishness at all.
I think what you might be thinking of is the DS remakes of the older DQs (that had already been remade on several consoles before includes PS1) that were indeed filled with alright mates, ochs and innits. That was after the series got voice acting, though, and was presumably done in light of the wonderfully non-generic localisation of DQVIII which really set it apart from the usual US localisations with pretty flat English with a smattering of awesomes and dudes.
Still on the fence with this one. It'll be nice if they release a demo.
