There were a spate of nasty rumours suggesting that promising PlayStation 4 exclusive Horizon: Zero Dawn had been pushed into 2017 yesterday, but Guerrilla Games has debunked the reports, stressing that nothing has changed since E3 2015. "I just wanted to let you all know that we are targeting a 2016 release date," senior producer Mark Norris wrote on NeoGAF.
The studio's Twitter account echoed a similar sentiment. "Yes, we are," it said when asked by a fan if it still intended to deploy Aloy's inaugural adventure next year. The game is on display at Gamescom 2015 this week, but it doesn't look like we're getting a new trailer or gameplay footage. That will probably be reserved for Paris Games Week, which is locked for late October.

If it needs more time. give it more time. I hope they don't compromise and rush it out early before it's ready due to all the pressure. I would prefer to wait and make sure the game is truly superb. This looks amazing so far. It would be a real shame to destroy its potential legacy due to market forces. In the long term it will strengthen the Playstation brand if done well.
Whether that will be the same story sometime next year is an entirely different question.
This is absolutely the game I am most excited for. A.) It's open world B.) It's gorgeous looking and C.) Single player focused! That's where it's at. Hope they do stay on track for 2016 and release a well polished game.
@justerthought I think Sony will delay into 2017 because this generation they have given there exclusives time.
Take your time, the graphics is always great from Guerrilla. With the addition of some story writers they supposedly acquired from Obsidian I hope they invest more into the lure.
Nice to see them aloying fears of a delay.
