You know that feeling when you've been waiting for a game for almost a decade and then it doesn't decide to show up at the world's biggest gaming expo? So you wait a little longer and it turns up at Gamescom with 90 seconds of gameplay footage that doesn't even look close to being ready? Yes, we're still bitter.
But it's all better now because Square Enix has gone ahead and released three whole new screenshots of Final Fantasy XV for us to look at - we've never known such generosity. To be fair, though, they at least show some fresh locations.
The first shows off some more travelling gameplay with the gang taking to the road once again, while the second portrays a rather lovely little part of a city. The third picture, meanwhile, gives us a glimpse of a dark and dank dungeon. Noctis should have probably dressed down for the occasion.
How do you think it looks? Are these images enough to satiate your hunger after last week's dismal German showing? Wait 10 more years in the comments section below.

The snark is strong with this one. When all's said and done, though, it does look good.
Looks nice though.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi Yeah was gunna say, does look good.
Still no chocobos.
@Mega-Gazz there were Chocobos at a ranch in the playable demo
Really looking forward to this game. Looks like a return to form for the series.
These FFXV articles are starting to get salty, I think they're just trying to be careful with it.
@Jazzer94 When Square Enix actually shows something, I'll stop. This is more than deserved - we all know it.
I think it would be great if there was a FF XV DLC for Driveclub, getting the car with the gang!
@ShogunRok Seems like a case of when it's ready, it's ready. I'm still expecting they'll announce a release date earlier than we all thought like it aint no thing.
After all they announced FF7 HD then kept quiet through all the hate until announcing the Remake 6-7 months later.
This game soooo won't be out in 2016!
To be fair, they are showing stuff. Yeah, they could show much more but at least we're getting something, even if it's little.
Three screenshots. Well, that is a lot more than we received from the Last Guardian for several years.
The thing is that this couples with KH3 so that makes the wait harder. And now the FFVII remake.
Looks like theyve shown all the new bits.
Its Final Fantasy, how much different can it be?
"Guys we need a new FF game!
Protaganist with mad haircut - check.
Girl whom protaganist inevitably falls in love with - check.
Bully who protaganist ultimately becomes friends with - check.
Best mate who dies horribly - check.
Large unbeatable boss until you reach a specific level and part of story - check.
Done!"
Before the fanboys get here, Im joking, sort of.
Does look nice though.
Just finish the damn game, folks.
As much as the reveal has been disappointing, this is the only Final Fantasy I've ever had an interest in
The screen shots look great. I assume small clips and screen shots will continue to trickle out, just enough to keep the fans involved. Prolly get a release date at Tokyo for the end of 2016.
One comment for the second screenshot: Timber!
@kyleforrester87 sweet
LMAO! Fun article to read.
@finalstan Yeah I thought that. Or maybe Balamb (not Balamb Garden). Hmmm I think I need to play FF8 again.
Not sure if this is the best place to post this but Square has confirmed that the FF7 Remake will Not use the luminous engine. As to why, we can only speculate at this point, but it is going the same route as KH3. I want to believe that they feel they can get it done quicker using a different engine(UE4?), but I am not sure at this point. It makes me wonder if the luminous engine itself gave square some trouble and caused some of the delay with 15. Anyways thought you guys would find this interesting, later.
Here is to hoping we get a dual release holiday 2016, 7 and 15! Stupid and completely impossible I know, but a guy can still wish can't he??
@kyleforrester87 @finalstan Timber Maniacs building before you derail the train (boss part of the game) it has got a timber vibe. Good spot. Kyle Balamb was tiny like 3 screens and one of them was zells mums house.
