A hearty congratulations to DriveClub, which has officially sold two million units to date. Despite being subject to some pretty dark times over the past couple of years, the PlayStation 4 exclusive racer has proven pretty darn successful, achieving the abovementioned milestone prior to the release of its long-awaited PlayStation Plus edition. We daresay that that will add a few extra digits to its tally.
The game launched last October amid some pretty disastrous server issues. But, all credit to the Runcorn developer, Evolution Studios bounced back, delivering arguably the best Season Pass to date. And it's promised that the release is yet to run out of road, with more "exciting content" on the rain-lashed horizon. "It's been a crazy journey full of highs and lows," director Paul Rustchynsky revealed. "I couldn't be happier now and the best bit is that the journey isn't over yet."

Impressive sales for a great game. They got there in the end!
It's no wonder it's selling so well - the PS Plus "Upgrade" version of the game is twenty quid. With the season pass, fourty quid total, and you get more content there than certain other racing games I could name would provide out-of-the-box for the same price. Evolution have -really- turned DriveClub around, and some of the gestures to the community - like making the first DLC pack free-for-all, making extra, really good, DLC to ensure season pass owners aren't short-changed and the free concept car DLC, my most favourite of which being the Motorstorm Dune Buggy - all show just how much they care about ensuring the customer gets their money's worth.
Now here's hoping their next game is a return to the Motorstorm series - Apocalypse was probably my most-played PS3 racing game by a good margin.
Not bad for a game that some thought was a flop, might well be PS4's best selling exclusive.
Been playing it since launch and I'm still loving it Alot of companies could learn alot from Driveclub's season pass value.
I didn't like it - now love it, been pretty much the only game I have played all week. All I need is to max out the gameplay accolade and win another 2 of my own challenges for the platinum. Its hard to master, but that became part if the fun for me. Its like an open road version of project Gotham racing.
@adf86 I would be really surprised if it has sold more than infamous...
@ztpayne7 Maybe, it sold a million in a week so quite possibly
I didn't get it at launch, but picked it up quite cheap (under £20) a few months later. Love it to bits - for me, just the right difficulty... some tough challenges, but nothing that perseverance and practice can't overcome.
Great game, love it to bits
Underated gem. I'll say it forever.
People are sleeping on a great game
Great to see they manage to turn around...
Excellent game. Takes me back to my earliest racing game days. Racing with my club is really fun.
