The Taken King sounds like it's going to right a lot of Destiny's wrongs, but fans of the franchise's Raids may be disappointed to learn that you'll have to wait for the title's new mega mission, King's Fall. Speaking with IGN at PAX Prime, director Luke Smith confirmed that there'll be a little wait before the content unlocks.
"We definitely have a plan for when it's going to be available," he teased. "I'm not going to announce the plan for it on the YouTube Gaming stage, but I promise for people who are excited about the Raid that [they] will know when it's time to take time off work. We'll give 'em a heads up." Will you be taking time off work when the Raid arrives? No, us neither.

They did the same with VoG - Worked out quite nicely since it takes time to get to the level required anyway. Plus having new content released periodically helps this kind of game feel fresher for longer - I think a lot of us expected more (free!!) content drops throughout the first year to be frank.
Can't wait to play it though, only done 3 raid runs with guys from here and they were great fun. (Hows your spacial awareness these days, @themcnoisy?)
I'll be looking to raid with people when this hits, so add me please! My PSN name is JWoody13.
Yeah can't wait for this to come out destiny has been so stale lately that I had to leave it for a while. Not to mention pricey. Here is hoppingbthe game has a big turn around here going forward n be comes the #1 shared world mmo on console.
Also like to say alot of people give this game bad rap and for good reason there is a lot of things in this game that make it hard to stop focusing on. But I personally like the game because of some of then finer points of destiny and delight in the idean of being part of a game that will span a long time to come. And yes(fans) I know the taken king is gonna fix a lot of the short commings it has had and that(haters) being part of this ongoing world is gonna pricey for pre-adopters . But despite all the negative this is the type of game I've been wanting for a long time and will enjoy it as long as it remains so.
(Much like how getting started early in metalgear and halo created a huge amazing story over several games)
I don't even play raids due to no fire team, but HAHAHAHA. They're charging $40 and not even including the raid at launch.
Oh man, this is ridiculous.
@JesWood13 send me an invite - I'm well behind but will probably jump in again after mgs.
@kyleforrester87 haha, I was just lost.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi Yeah hopefully they got it right with pvp balance but curious to know if pulse rifles are still gonna be op after hand cannon nerfs, but might just be enough with auto rifles coming back to even everything out.
Lol yeah blink shotgun can tick some people off, I like to run sunsinger with dual fusion gernades n voidfang. People start getting mad n tea bag. I hope necro is practical now on ( 8th)
Its understandable that the Raid will not be available at launch. It is after all meant to be the pinnacle of the end game content. When Destiny launched, the VoG was also unavailable - not that it mattered as we all started at Lvl 1 and the VoG was a Lvl 26 activity. You can't do some of the other content in the DLC either at first - you can't do the Omnigal Strike or PoE until you have completed the 'story' content first as it ties in with that (not giving spoilers but there is a continuity which wouldn't make sense if these were 'unlocked' at the start).
In the case of the new Raid though, I don't know if it is a continuity issue in the same way. More likely it is down to giving people a chance to experience the story, level up their character(s) in preparation - including the new Subclasses - which are not unlocked straight away but via 'quests' as these may have 'abilities' that are more beneficial.
I know people complained that the VoG was not unlocked from launch but no-one was in position to play it anyway. Its set on Venus and that was not accessible until you completed enough of the storyline. You also had to level up enough to unlock 'access' even when it was available.
I know people complain about Destiny and in particular its 'lack of content' but for a game that is 'lacking' in content, I have more hours invested in it than any other. The Witcher 3 for example received praise for having 200hrs of content, I have over 1,500hrs invested in just the XB1 version and 100's of hours on the PS4 version too.. I have more hours on the DLC than the Witcher 3. I am not saying the story etc is better but Destiny's gameplay is great - it must be otherwise people wouldn't keep playing.
