Ah, the British summer – a time where the locals turn out in too few clothes despite there being clouds in the sky and the sales charts hibernate for a few weeks. There's absolutely nothing worth mentioning in this latest top ten, but we'll do our best. LEGO Jurassic World is back at the top, while Grand Theft Auto V's in second. The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is continuing to perform well in third, as Batman: Arkham Knight scowls in fourth.
Elsewhere, you've got the likes of FIFA 15, Battlefield Hardline, and Minecraft rounding out the top ten. There are no new arrivals this time, as all of the major releases have been happening on the PlayStation Store rather than in physical outlets of late. There's very little else to say, then, but things should pick up soon with the impending arrival of Until Dawn, Mad Max, and a little game called Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

I was going to say before that I bet Rare Replay does what Splatoon did and drops at least halfway down the chart after a week and then vanishes off it the next. Very much an "everyone who wants it will get it straight away" type of game.
Also I was shocked to see that the RRP for it is £55. That's $86 to the American readers. By contrast, other old game compilations tend to be about $20 RRP, like the Sega Mega Drive collection on PS3 which has over 40 games.
@Matroska I thought Rare Replay was like £19.99?
@Matroska That RRP doesn't sound right...

I was just going off Zavvi. They keep sending me emails about their "big savings" so I clicked on one and saw this.

Just checked on Amazon and it's about £17 and not as part of a limited time sale or anything. That's what I get for going to Zavvi.com.
@Matroska Heh, they must go for the jewelry store/guitar shop model. Everything is 80% off!!!
@Vineleaf
Yeah, or like those furniture adverts where pod people smile endlessly while sitting on a rotating settee.
It's stated even more clearly in the Xbone section, those dodgy Del Boy dealers.
@Matroska just like tesco, reduced by half one week, two weeks later its reduced by half again but at a different price, pathetic immoral marketing.
Minecraft forever in your chart.
I actually bought this for the ps4 a few weeks ago and its exactly the same as last gen.
@Matroska Splatoon has been doing much better than you made out. Especially when it's on Wii U.
@rastamadeus I mean the UK chart specifically. It came in 2nd behind TW3 I think. Next week it was 6th, week after it was out the top 10.
According to VGChartz.com, across the whole of Europe (that's about 50 countries, bear in mind) Splatoon has only sold 210,000 copies. Its sales within the UK alone will of course be a lot less than that. By contrast Arkham Knight just in Europe and just on the PS4 sold over 481,000 in the week ending 27th of June.
But yeah, for a Wii U game it's done pretty well. Its total worldwide sales mean that about 1 in 9 Wii U owners bought it. When I eventually get a Wii U when they're like £50 or whatever, I'll definitely pick up Splatoon.
zzz...Bring on September!
