If you've played Journey, then you'll know that it has an absolutely stellar soundtrack; the music isn't just a background component - it's something that's directly entwined with the experience. Composer Austin Wintory's name was deservedly thrown around a lot after the game's release, so we suppose that it's no surprise a big publisher like Ubisoft has snapped him up to work on a AAA project.
That particular project is Assassin's Creed Syndicate, the French publisher has revealed. Apparently, the game will feature a dynamic soundtrack that shifts between moods depending on what you're currently doing in its sandbox re-imagining of smoggy old London.
Wintory himself describes the score as a "dramatically tactile experience", and one that's possible through the use of not a full-blown orchestra, but a selection of elite musicians. "You're right in the face of a handful of brilliant players, each exploding with energy. Yet, because of its intimacy it can also sneak up on you in ways a lumbering orchestra can't," he explains.
With Wintory composing the score for this year's instalment, we've got high hopes for its overall quality. The franchise has always been home to some good soundtracks, but will this one become a favourite? Place your bets in the comments section below.

Shoot, now I'm actually suddenly interested in this game. I'm a big fan of Wintory's work.
Still, I'm getting pretty sick of the AC series. I'll pick it up in a year when it's less than half the price.
