Sammy's feeling like Speedy Gonzales

The sun has set on another week, but there's one major difference this time: we've actually got WAYP ready relatively early this time. In fact, this level of organisation is practically unheard of here at Push Square Towers, as responses from staff members were solicited yesterday – and the entire article's been completed long before lunch. Weird.

I'll be grudgingly leaving Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain untouched for a few days, as I spend a little time away from my PlayStation 4 with only my Vita to keep me company. Super Time Force Ultra is top of my list, but I'm hoping to give everything on my 64GB memory card a quick go so that I can free up some damn space.

After a right kerfuffle trying to get Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain to actually work on my PS4, it comes as no surprise that I'll be kicking up some dust as Big Boss in an attempt to make up for lost time. I'm pretty terrible at stealth games – my one true weakness – but that rule has never applied to Hideo Kojima's stellar series for whatever reason. Sure, I might have to put a few bullets in a few dozen Russian guards, but it's the results that count, and I get results. And B ranks.

It's taken me a few days, but I've finally cracked open my copy of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. I've got no idea what's going on, but my goodness is it something special. I've always enjoyed the sim/management portions of games, so I'm looking forward to making my Mother Base so much better than your Mother Base. Just you wait and see.

This weekend I'll be trekking the forest in Until Dawn as quickly as possible, so I can then trek the forests in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The weather report says that it'll be sunny, so I could theoretically trek through real-life forests, but it's looking unlikely.

This weekend, I'll be riding V8 fuelled, shiny, and chrome, as I continue to play Mad Max for review. I'll also be mixing in a little Destiny, having finally got over my disappointment with how it turned out, and finding a way to like it for the game it is.

With Super Time Force Ultra and Xeodrifter released this month, September has already provided a couple of pixel chiselled 2D treats. I consider both titles to be valuable additions to my Instant Games Collection, but I'll focus on Xeodrifter first.

I never got to play the DLC for Dishonored, so I'm finally getting around to that with the Definitive Edition and will finish off The Brigmore Witches portion this weekend. Being in Daud's shoes feels like playing a different shade of Corvo Attono, and I really love that. I'll be sure to accompany that with Evolve as well, and maybe Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. I need to get to Kojima's latest masterpiece as soon as possible.

This weekend I'll be getting my hand egg fix in Madden NFL 16 and trying to find out what all of the terms mean. (Seriously, the hell is a 'hook and lateral'?) If that gets boring, I'll also be playing Mad Max and basking in all of the lovely explosions because I was apparently the only person to choose it over Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.

I'm a busy bee at the moment, so there'll be little time for gaming. However, I will try and squeeze in an hour or two of Grow Home, which is colourful, charming, and crucially, lots of fun.

WAYP is done and dusted in record time. All that's left is for us to ask: what are you playing this weekend? Let us know in the comments section below.
