We're sadly not stomping the TGS 2015 show floor, but IGN are, and they've seen something that's caught their eye. No, we're not referring to GREE's lustrous array of booth companions, but those tasty PlayStation 4 faceplates that were announced for the Japanese market earlier in the week. We're not going to embed all of the images here because that would be pretty poor form, but we had to share that pink one. Suits you, sir.
Just in case you missed the news – and because we need another paragraph here to pad this post out – the colour swaps will be available from Sony stores starting later this year. To be fair, the Japanese giant has toyed with a similar idea in the West, but it's only really served up image-heavy options on these shores. We'd actually like to see SCEE and SCEA take a leaf out of SCEJ's book, and offer some of these plain colours.

I have said before in the past, I HATE the glossy part of the PS4 with a passion. I actually hate anything electronic that has a glossy surface, the screen of my laptop is matte and so are the surfaces on my smartphone. I would pay 20€ just for one of those faceplates, preferably the black one, to switch the HDD cover. I don't even care if 20€ would get me 5 of those or 1, I really, really want to change the HDD cover.
I hope they start offering both plain colors and game themed faceplates in the west
@Steel76 same here, I really wish console makers would stop making glossy consoles! Gimme matte anyway...
I just love the glossy look on my White PS4.
@AlexKidd I totally agree with you, I hate the gloss on it. It collects dust and scratches with slightest thing that goes on top of it. Hopefully there will be one that is not glossed.
@AlexKidd @noodleking1987 I love the two tone gloss. Standard matt looks too cheap, imo
Where can I buy faceplates IN EUROPE?
