Once upon a time, before Konami imploded, Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima was working on Silent Hills in addition to The Phantom Pain. It makes sense, then, that there would be some references to the survival horror, and its PlayStation 4 playable teaser, in the open world espionage escapade. And our friend Arekkz Gaming has captured the Easter egg so that you can enjoy it without wandering around looking for it.
There's a shack in the Angola-Zaire Border Region, which includes a radio. Turning this on will prompt a news broadcast to play, which is the same one as from the P.T. taster. You can hear the full thing courtesy of the clip embedded below. Have you found any other Silent Hills references in the stealth release? Sneak into the comments section below and let us know.

I suspect there will be a few throughout
Sigh.
This sucks. It really does. Especially since I boasted of how Silent Hills was gonna be one of the greatest horror games ever.
I'd get MGS V... but admittedly I haven't played a single MGS game yet (unlesss you count Ground Zeroes, which I wasn't the biggest fan of tbh, but that's likely due to the fact that I have had zero experience with Snake prior).
@Goob yeah, it's really a good idea to play at least MGS3 and Peace Walker before playing this one. Although knowledge of the entire series will make you have many happy moments.
Kojima will do other things, someone that talented won't stay dormant for long - who knows he might even go on and make something better than P.T.... it could actually happen!
Waiting with interest to hear the full story about what actually happened, glad they've all kept quiet for the time being to not take anyway any of the focus from how great a game MGS V is.
Konami will probably patch it out
sigh....
You start in the same hospital as silent hills 1... Da da daaaaaaaa.
It's as if this article all of a sudden made me realize what's going on, as if earlier I just didn't wanna hear that Kojima will no longer be making Konami games... It might be the cocktail of whisky and pain killers, but I feel like crying.
Konami pronounced correctly sounds like mon ami.. But they certainly don't behave that way.
Sorry not reading or looking, I'll discover everything the Phantom Pain has to offer myself including EG's.
Just makes me more angry and hateful towards the scum running Konami.
