Ah, we've been waiting for this announcement. Fallout 4's development is all done and dusted according to Bethesda's official Twitter account, which posted a picture of some lovely sealed copies of the upcoming release.
With the game launching in just over two weeks, the hype is almost palpable, but the studio has left it relatively late to reveal that the title's gone gold. Let's hope that the developer's been squashing bugs right up until the very last minute, eh?
Jokes aside [was it really a joke? - Ed.], there's little doubt that Fallout 4 is going to hit the gaming landscape with the force of an atomic bomb next month, so let us know if you'll be wandering out into the radioactive wasteland in the comments section below.

While I'm pretty excited for this, given their track record I'll wait until at least a week or so after release to see if any glaring issues emerge.
Its pretty much the only big PS4 game I want this holiday.
Can't wait for this an Star Wars definitely going to keep me in the house for a month when I'm not working!
My next buy for sure not picked anything thing up for ages knowing I'm gonna sink a hell of a lot of time into this
This is why I play video games. I'll be bagging my copy at midnight on Monday 9th.
I don't think Fallout 4 will be as buggy as people think. Yeah Fallout may have gone gold but, we live in the age of day one updates, thus, Bethesda is able to keep bug hunting right up to release.
I couldn't be more excited to once again step out into the wasteland
Let's see if turns good. I love Fallout 2 but did not connected with Fallout 3 or even New Vegas (which is way better). Skyrim was great but was no Oblivion or Morrowind, and after The Witcher 3 I'm a little spoiled to tolerate Bethesda usual mistakes (such graphics, little impact in the story aside the main quest, no likable npc, etc)
@WARDIE it'll have more bugs than the new earth defense force game
I have to get through bloodborne, the order, tales from the borderlands, the Witcher, and some others ... So probably wait a year for a sale.
Honestly it is likely worth the full price but my gaming habit can't afford full price for all the games.
Already pre-ordered. This and XCX for my Wii U will make this a great end for my year.
I'm on a game buying ban due to Xmas
Hopefully it will be loads of fun to play.
I have the day booked off work ready for what it the last game I'll buy until probably Uncharted 4.
Lets take bets friends how large will the day 1 patch be?
@SteveButler2210 Given their track record, I am debating buying it now, or waiting for a six months and getting a collectors edition with $50 worth of DLC, all for half the price of the original launch title...I don't know if I can wait that long though!
Have the patches went gold?
I'm going all in for this one; pip-boy edition for PS4 with limited collectors guide and art book.. to go with my mini-nuke, Sneak bobble head, the two action figures and some shirts! Just need the Season Pass and I'll be done! 😅 (and broke! but happy!)
Cannot wait for this! So fed up with Destiny now and need this and Battlefront to consign it to the shelf for good!
And now we wait to see if the PS4 version actually works or if Bethesda has once again screwed over the PS userbase.
I'm excited for this game but with it only being SP i'm waiting until it's on the cheap to many other game's coming out i'm much more hyped for, look's pretty good though.
This, just cause and uncharted collection will round out the remainder of my gaming purchases this year.
It's gonna be tough but I think I'll wait for player feedback on how it runs and bug count before I purchase. Watch it being played on Playstation Live.
@Gamer83 How did Bethesda srew over the PlayStation fan base? It wasn't their folt Sony went with a chip (cell) that developers really struggled with. Because of the issues Bethesda sold the dlc half price on PlayStation.
@WARDIE A poor craftsman blames his tools.
The state of Skyrim on PS3 was simply unacceptable - especially considering Bethesda knowingly released it onto the market. IMO, this was a criminal act, and the fact that the duped masses looked the other way was downright absurd.
The existence of patches (not that they did any good for Skyrim) doesn't excuse a buggy mess.
@Kage_88 Still, im sure Fallout 4 won't be as bad. Yeah it will no doubt have plenty of bugs, but not any worse than other systems.
@Kage_88 played the crap out of new vegas n skyrim . While I thought that new vegas had tons of bugs but wasn't major besides game freezes (ugh) . As for skyrim I don't remember any bugs that were detrimental to gameplay. Occasional dead body glitch n what not but nothing major iirc.
@WARDIE
Pretty much every other competent developer eventually came to grips with PS3, there's no excuse why an excellent studio like Bethesda couldn't. There was no excuse for how Skyrim ran on PS3, bottomline. Because of that, I don't trust Bethesda and I'm not giving the benefit of the doubt on Fallout 4. Obviously I want to be wrong.
I was talking to some other people online earlier about how it's a bit strange how little they've shown of Fallout 4 with just over 2 weeks to go. We've seen about 5 minutes of Todd talking about customising equipment, we've seen a scripted non-gameplay trailer in which every ran as if they'd crapped themselves, and there's leaked footage of combat that Bethesda didn't want to release in which it looks like any FPS from the past 15 years but perhaps with less weight.
Don't get me wrong, I'm looking forward to it. Even though Fallout 3 was soulless and bland - the exact opposite to the classic games - I'm optimistic that they'll have learned from their mistakes and also taken a few tips from Obsidian via New Vegas. There's just more news about branded beer, Vault hoodies and highly sought after plastic blocks that clip onto your wrist than there is anything to do with the game itself. That's not a dig at news outlets such as Push Square; sites can only put up what Bethesda give them.
@SteveButler2210 same here, think i'll wait till Christmas for this one. Whilst i want to play it, there are a few games i need to finish off - and that'll give them time to patch any issues (and a game this open/big WILL have some bugs.
