Sharpen those pitch forks and prepare some picket signs in protest, because November's big PlayStation Plus update is days away from being exposed. Amid the panic of Paris Games Week, SCEE's ever-patient PlayStation Blog manager Fred Dutton told one eager fan that the lineup should be announced "mid-next week, all going well". We reckon that it will probably be mentioned during the platform holder's press conference in the French capital.
We actually haven't got a clue what could be part of next month's selection. New releases due out on the 3rd November – which is when we expect the freebies to be available – include Need for Speed, but you've got more chance of starring in the next Fast & Furious movie than getting that. While we've got nothing against the smaller games on this site, it would be nice if Sony listened to some feedback – October's lineup was pretty darn dire, after all.

Was waiting for this post
@darkswabber
Inb4 moaning about lack of AAA
AAA is a meaningless term. Give me some quality games that aren't pixel art and have voice acting
Or even.something as awesome as velocity 2x
Sincerely I'm not expecting too much since the last months were a huge disappointment (minus Rocket League).
I haven't played a single one of this months games and I play anything. Poor. May give that double fine game a shot although my expectations are low.
@get2sammyb Why are you still complaining about October games? Every ps4 game on that list got a high score on this site. I really loved Broken Age and liked Unmechanical. Complaining about a Tim Schaffer game is something I don't understand.
what happen to the vote ?
@jmbenetti It was a lazy month on Sony's part, as evidenced by the fact that it wasn't even deemed worthy of a proper PlayStation Blog post. I'm not saying the games sucked, but there was no variety in the offering and it seemed cobbled together at the last minute.
If you liked the games, then that's great!
Fingers crossed square Enix try to recoup some faith and we get tomb raider on the ps4, although previously released on the ps3 that was the month before the ps4 released I think. May help when the next instalment come to the ps4 2016.
i think they should give us until dawn, bloodborne, dying light, soma. jk, on a serious note though id like goat simulator and/or that bread game
I let my subscription lapse for the first time ever as the offerings have Been so poor as of late. I may renew it next week depending on the games.
First sentence of this piece got me
I'm seeing rumors about Battlefield Hardline. Please anything but Hardline! That soulless game is a bore. I'd rather have Shovel Knight or Second Son or Killzone Shadowfall or even Knack.
Can't wait toe see the new free indies.
Paris Games Week: "....and at the end of this conference No Man's Sky will be available in the PS store for every PS4 owner to download..... Free of charge for PS+ subscribers".
BOOM! *drop mic and smash a One in half on stage (watch your back though)
I thought chariot and kung fu rabbit were really good games
Games probably won't be that good, but at least we're all starring in the next Fast & Furious movie!!!
indies await!!! hope I'm wrong but I'm giving up hope of ever seeing the kind of quality games we used to get again
@AbrarZShahriar i didn't think it was that bad, i played through the campaign on xbox one via EA Access the other day - took about 5 hours.
I really don't know what id actually like to see on ps plus this month, no mans sky? Hehe.
My prediction.... SONY will go with the whole Halloween vibe and go with The Last of Us... It would be quite the statement eh?
Give me a game that I can play for more than 1 hour please!
@Cron_13 The gaping plotholes didn't bother you? Also after BF3 and a little BF4 I'm fed up with Battlefield multiplayer. Currently only playing and interested in MGO3.
@AbrarZShahriar haha, there is that - the phone in thr briefcase was the highlight for bad writing for me. The whole thing felt rushed, and I'd agree the plot was shit (battlefield 4 was the same imo), but it was cheesy to the extent i found it enjoyable enough.
Id certainly not buy it, but as a freebie i think we've had a LOT worse from Sony.
After contemplating someday getting a PS Plus subscription (at the recommendation of my good friend from whom I bought my current PS3) I'm thinking it's not really worth it from reading a lot of these comments. And it seems like it's only really really worth it if you have a PS4 and a Vita. The main appeal for me is the discount on games I'm interested in, rather than receiving free games. But I think it's a pretty cool program, I'm not really in the habit of paying monthly subscription fees for video game related things, but it seems like a decent value overall.
@animalovich Sony stated that the vote won't be used every month.
Whilst I'd give super meat boy was fun, can we have a retail game next month?
I hope the Hardline rumour is true , I own every battlefield since 1942 and Hardline is the first that just didn't appeal but for free I'd give it s blast for at least a few hours unlike a lot of the Indies.
I think we're at the point now where people would rather have something crap but (a) it came out in the last 3 years (b) it looks like it came out in the last 3 years than they would rather have another bloody 2D platformer.
It's not necessarily about indie vs AAA, those are pretty crappy terms that I wish people would stop using. It's more about genre, really. I don't care if this retro 2D platformer cost £10 million or 75p to make, I don't want to play it. Indie and AAA aren't mutually exclusive terms in reality, a company can be independent but still put a lot of money into a project. A game that would have been considered AAA at the time (although I don't remember anyone using the term then) like Final Fantasy VII is now something a small team could create for a low budget.
But anyway, yeah, at this point I'd rather they give me a 6/10 FPS or something than a supposedly 10/10 NES-inspired game made by someone whose first console was the Xbox 360 and has the kind of embarrassing, try-hard tone that art students have being pumping out for decades. They're not all bad, though. Shovel Knight really IS something that understands there's more to the old classics like Castlevania than "retro graphics" and "chiptunes", while also not being a pathetically maudlin drizzle like Braid and its ilk.
Sony : Disappointment awaits 😧
@MinerWilly so agree if this is right it's great news I have played them but never got around to hardline even after playing hours of the beta my only worry is would they give it free with battlefront the same month
@get2sammyb I disagree that October was a dire month. always wanted to pick up Broken Age but never have and I've always dismissed SMB as crap but I had an absolute blast finishing it. That said they can't use the "the library isn't big enough" excuse anymore the PS4 is 2 years old next month time some bigger games sat alongside an indie in the IGC
On ps4 I'd be more than happy with Rayman Legends or Evil Within (even. Though j has and traded it in) and Zombie Vikings
C'mon, Sony, convince me to resubscribe to Playstation Plus!
Sigh. They are not free,it's a paid service, and if there as weak as last months lot,I wont bother renewing for a while. At least give us something decent for the PS3 and Vita,if not for the PS4.
@Ralizah My sentiments exactly!
