Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is out globally today, which means that surround sound systems around the world will be emitting those famous words "oh crap" a not-so insignificant number of times over the coming weeks. Of course, with the PlayStation 4 compilation stirring fond memories, it's perhaps a timely period for us to quiz you on your favourite entry so far.
All three titles hold up incredibly well on Sony's new-gen system, but this author reckons that Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is still the most consistent of the console trilogy. Of course, the great thing about this series is that everyone has a different pick – editor Robert Ramsey swears by Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, for example.
So, what's your favourite and why? Place your vote in the poll below, and then elaborate upon your decision in the comments section. And don't worry PlayStation Vita fans, as we've included Uncharted: Golden Abyss in the ballot. There's no room for competitive card game Uncharted: Fight for Fortune, though – we doubt that it will be missed.
What's your favourite Uncharted game so far? (117 votes)

uncharted 2 is best, original uncharted is my fave, all of them are fantastic
I haven't played any I want to thou
Uncharted 2. Amazing game.
2>3>1
Surely the most pointless pole ever? It's Golden Abyss obviously
Just kidding it's number 2, it was a huge leap in graphics and gameplay from the original. With so many sections which stick in the mind from that phenomenal opening to the train level, being chased across rooftops by a helicopter then the quite right moments in the village. It was like being in a series of the best Hollywood action films whilst setting standards for voice acting in games, I loved the banter between the characters as you were exploring. I wasn't going to buy the collection but after playing the demo playing Marco polonium in the rooftop swimming pool before having a building shot down whilst I was in it, I'm gonna have to give it another go. Just to add some balance I'll admit the last boss is a bit rubbish but by then I didn't really care.
2 is top ten of all time for me
Golden Abyss for me. (Sorry carlos82!)
Uncharted 3 is the best for sure. The story was the best, the graphics are the best, the gameplay (espcially the melee) were the best, the locations (or more likely level design, as Uncharted 2's sound better on paper to me), the puzzles, and so on. Almost everthing is the best. Oh, and I have to say the set pieces were that much more awe-inspiring too.
I know most people are 2>3>1, but I played them all for the first time this year and I'm firmly 3>2>1.
Among Thieves. It has my favorite intro of the series, which had me hooked from the outset. The technical leap from Drake's Fortune was big, and it shows. Of course, there are the characters, which not only felt more fleshed out this time, but I also liked the parallels yet difference between Nate and Flynn, as well as Chloe becoming a better character by the end. I also think that 2 got the balance between story and gameplay just right, which was my main problem with 3.
The game's only issue? A shortage of Victor Sullivan.
Bloomin hell giz a chance to play them boys it only came out today.
The problem with Uncharted 3 for me is that it's a bit all over the place. You can tell they wrote the story around the set-pieces, rather than vice versa. That's fine - it's a spectacle. But I personally feel Uncharted 2 is a bit more cohesive.
They're all brilliant, though — even Golden Abyss.
UC2 with out a doubt.
UC3 has a terribly uncohesive story, but all the rest of it is fantastic.
Uncharted: Fight for Fortune
But seriously these games just aren't appealing to me. Now I'll admit that my only experience is trying the demos and Platinuming Golden Abyss.
But I don't see how people can stand the boring, linear exploration and too easy shooting gallery style combat gameplay.
Climb this straight path, sit behind this cover and head shot enemies when they pop out.Wash,rinse,repeat. Plus the sluggish controls typical to a console shooter. It all just seems too dull for me.
Hated the boss fight in two! But it was the best game. Loved the set pieces in three though.
Uncharted 2! So many memorable moments and set pieces from the opening to the end.
There's a weird plot thread in 3 that I feel they never resolved.
3, just for the ship level. For my money that beats the train in uncharted 2 hands down.
Played all of them. 2 was my favorite by far. I loved the setting and the story. To be fair though they are all awesome. The first Uncharted was my reason for buying a Ps3 when I already had an Xbox 360 at the time.
I picked up the collection today. Was on 360 last gen so hadn't played any. I played all the way through Drake's Fortune today. I loved it! It did feel a bit dated but not to bad. They did a good job polishing up I'd say. I don't know why everyone says its so easy. Towards the end I got my ass kicked a few times. I can't wait to play 2. After about 8 hours of gaming though I should probably take a break and start the second tomorrow.
Since we're talking favorites here... 2>1>GA>>>>>3.
Obviously from a graphical perspective, especially the set pieces, 3 tops all but it was easily the most disappointing game in the series for me.
Why can I not vote for the card game or the game where you collect coke zero drops to keep your energy up, I'm pretty sure their canon.
3 has some really good bits but the last hour of the game really let's it down for me. And the antagonists in 2 are by far the most interesting of all the games with strong personalities.
Eddie Raja from the first game was fun though, hope they bring him back.
Hopefully without any spoilers but why is their no love for drakes fortune?? Have only done the 1st hour or so (my plane crashed) n gotta say its pretty solid so far
Uncharted 2 all the way....
@ironcrow86
Not a lot of love because 2 is simply a better game. But I do like 1 a lot as well, a close second and I enjoyed that game's story much more than 3's.
UC2 is a very pretty corridor of bullets.
UC3 is just so much more interesting.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.
Uncharted: Golden Abyss.
@ironcrow86 Drakes Fortune is an excellent game, but it shows its age a lot more than the other games. If you've not played the other two then you're in for a good time!
Without spoiling anything, I'm sure your opinion will change once you've played all three.
It's like my favoutism for Mass Effect. Everybody knows that the second game is the best, the third was a mixed bag and the original holds the fondest memories.
@carlos82 slap!
3 as it was the first one I played. First one I fell in love with. But they are all awesome.
Uncharted 2>>>>>>>>>>Uncharted 3>>>>>Uncharted 1>>Uncharted GA
Not even a contest, it's not even up for debate.
@ironcrow86
When you get onto 2, I swear it's a different world.
Is this really a question? 2. So unreal. Im replaying 1, and yes it is phenominal, but i know that come 2, its borderline life changing.
As someone who just recently played the whole series for the first time, Uncharted 2 is by far the best game hands down. Uncharted 3 just felt disjointed and incomplete in comparison to #2 and the original Uncharted was simply less epic then #2.
Uncharted 2 was my first uncharted and I felt the setting and story was better in 2 than uncharted 3.
I felt the original uncharted was the weakest of the three but it was finding it's feet, by the time uncharted 2 and 3 came along they had refined the gameplay
2 by a clear mile is naughty dogs best ever game not just the best uncharted.
2 is a sheer masterclass of game development from the opening screen to you finishing the game and it ranks up there with ocarina of time.
1 and 3 are also brilliant. 3 for me was the weakest and I personally got bored half way through and never finished it!
I think uncharted games are phenomenal and I'm a real advocate for them, but there was something wrong with 3 that I can't put my finger on.
Bit like the real star wars trilogy.
The first one brought something new, huge and gave you a world.
The second one did everything right in terms of their respective artistic medium and really delivered.
The third tried to capitalise on that success and copy the previous installments formula but ultimately fell a little short somewhere.
2 is so good I was hoping in the remaster they would let you play them in chronological order like the Godfather cut of the first 2 films (Godfather 3 will never count). Maybe even add in an opening and closing cut scene narration - "it all began way back when I was just a kid..." and then ending with "but the best was yet to come." or "but there is still one more story to tell", some cliche to lead up to 4.
The first half of 3 is ok, but nobody wants to play it after 2, but it would make a good start to one long game, then you play all of 1 followed by all of 2 then the second half of 3 beginning at the airport. I think that makes for a better game experience for the people who haven't played them yet. Remove all the credits and everything like that, just make it one long game. I think it could work. As it stands now, I'll only ever replay 2 again.
@tenderbeefcake I was 360 last gen too, 35% through the first one and its not dead easy, although it is if you kill run back, kill run back rinse and repeat till wave is gone. The shooting doesn't help either as the reticule has no kind of assist so even lined up the headshot slightly misses if you know what I mean its hard to describe. Maybe the hit boxes in halo, cod and destiny have skewed my idea of a satisfactory head shot. But you can hide away and pick off easily enough.
But well worth a game, I like the characters, even the loan shark had a wiff of bond villain about him.
@themcnoisy did you play The Last of Us remaster? That game was epic.
@tenderbeefcake first game I finished on my ps4. I only have 3% of the trophies, that list was solid. Although I didn't even know trophies were a thing until a few weeks after finishing it.
Well I guess drakes fortune for me, but since I haven't got to part 2 or 3 yet I have a feeling that will change. The original holds up really well graphically, so I am sure to be a little amazed with 2 and 3 if the comments are right. Glad I got this, definitely worth it.
Nice to see Uncharted 2 has now started to run away with this poll.
Playing Drake's Fortune currently and even with a fresh coat of paint it feels dated. Some of the mechanics, empty square rooms, weird camera angles and funky physics are things I hoped they would fix.
2, definitely. But I played 3 first as it was on PS Plus and absolutely loved it so it's quite a close second in my book.
Honour among thieves, huh...
