This author may like Star Wars Battlefront about as much as being force choked, but we're more than happy for those of you foolish enough to be enjoying the game to lap up the mediocrity for a little longer. EA Games announced on Twitter earlier this evening that it will be extending the PlayStation 4 blockbuster's server stress test through 13th October, which should give you ample time to come to your darn senses.
It's perhaps worth noting that your mileage may vary during the extra 24 hours. "These tests are to help us find some extreme scenarios, and that means that some players may experience occasional issues such as being kicked from the game or losing connectivity," a spokesperson said. "This is all being done in the name of shoring up our infrastructure before we launch on 17th November."
Credit where credit's due, we've found the beta to be a pretty flawless experience from a technical perspective, which is really rather impressive when you consider that every person in the world has been playing this over the weekend. It's a shame about the rest of it really...

Am I the only one that really enjoyed this? It looks great, runs great, great shooter. Obviously the spawning is terrible and walker assault is unbalanced but they will surely sort it for release...
@Patinator It's definitely good, but the fact that it should be a lot better is the issue. They made "not Battlefield" to the point where it lost too much Battlefront. I do repeat though, it's pretty good, and I do enjoy it and plan to get the game at launch.
@Patinator You're definitely not alone, don't worry about it. I'm just a miserable so-and-so...
I liked it better than I expected. Sadly, I enjoyed the mission mode more than the multiplayer...
Its ok I guess. The graphics and sound effects are second to none, at the moment but, I don't think it has the longevity of other multiplayer games. I guess time will tell.
I won't be getting it when it releases. Instead I will be need deep in the wasteland of Fallout 4. After that its Rainbow Six Siege for me.
@Patinator on the ps4 its battlefront
@Patinator I enjoyed it too. And I don't normally get on with online shooters. I'm looking forward to the full version.
As for the balance issue in Walker Assault. Why should it be equal? Why not have a slim chance of winning? It's as it was in the film and you swap sides anyway.
I was quite happy with the gameplay but I agree with other posters about waiting until after Fallout to play this. As someone who enjoyed Evolve but watched it become unplayable quickly due to low user numbers, I'm wary of full price online only games.
It seems quite fun but I've already got bored of the beta so the main game will need much more depth to it and I'm probably less certain about buying it after playing the beta. The Walker assault is easily fixed just by lowering the health of the AT-AT, I'm not sure how they fix the bottleneck issue of the second part of the stage. I've always been a single player gamer first and seen mp as an optional extra, so it's very difficult for me to justify the full price for what in my mind has most of the game missing.
The graphics are good and the sound is excellent but I did have trouble joining my friend the other day, if we were in a party the game wouldn't start and if we tried to joint the others game, one of us was left staring at a white screen forever as it refused to put us together.
@get2sammyb I was so disappointed with the Beta. The game is so mediocre it's not even funny. I even went as so far to cancel my pre order. Not impressed.
I have to say i played this on both the PS4 and PC and by far the PC version was better for frame rate and graphics. But the game overall became boring very quickly not a day one buy for me currently.
It absolutely nails the Star Wars atmosphere, the sound, grpahics, sparks, gameplay, it's all perfect. I have real trouble seeing how any Star Wars fan could not love this.
....after played both betas on PC(ultra) and PS4 and saw no difference at all I pre-ordered on PS4....as I enjoyed better on console than on PC..
COOL i can play it more
First off I'm not a Star wars fan , just don't really like it . Which is weird because I love gundam (lightsaber.... Beam saber.....) anyways a lot of my friends were Star wars nerds , so I was interested in playing this with them. Beta comes out n wow. Im actually enjoying it. Guns felt weird but attuned that to being a Star wars thing. The power up thing seems aa little arcade but being that guy who can see the fun in about any game that's not awful I found enjoyment in the random. So when I hear a lot of hate surrounding the beta it suprises me.
In its defense here we go. it's a beta so of course your gonna get bored of the game since it has very little content because it's beta.. as for balancing issues ,it is clear that empire has an advantage , but this is only a temporary thing I, assuming it will be as easy to lvl up in the full release. Walker assault does have balance issue but feel that it may be in part to not knowing what the he'll to do as the rebels. Hopefully people will begin to figure out as the game realease, (if not , were in for a bad experience from a veteran standpoint) campaign mode I, it was announced that there wouldn't be one iirc , and from what I hear the older battlefronts didn't either. Now that's not to say that they shouldn't have but the game was marketed as a multiplayer game . As for gameplay, its dice so there is definitely a battlefield vibe underlying it, and to some that dosent jive well but is somthing that should be expected from the get go.
There is some bad such as said before end game COULD revolve around the same loadouts n get stale. There are no classes which to some may be a good thing , to others bad. Trying to play this with a friend let alone a group of friends is proving to be a nightmare.
All that said I've had fun with it. N after playing beta I considered actually buying it , but with all the negative feedback, I feel like I might be missing somthing in my opinion of the game. So I'm back to no preoder n just renting it.
@wbh1138 Yeah I agree that's what I thought at first. But maybe to balance it out they could give the Rebels more snow speeders like the film because it is ridiculous when you are on the Rebels and they seem to have two AT AT'S, AT ST's Darth Vader, Tie fighters and a nob sat in the spawn on the rebel turrets killing everyone off. Although gameplay wise I love it, first shooter I seem addicted to since the old Cods etc.
I'm having fun with it. The only thing I hate is that Walker Assault is incredibly unbalanced.
Why is this game getting slammed so much? How is it any less of a game than battlefield? It's basically is battlefield but in the star wars universe
@BladeRider you're just suppose to hold off for as long as you can and keep activating the uplinks to call in bombers to destroy the two AT-ATs. If you kill the two AT-ATs, rebels win as there is no way for them to blow your thing up that you're trying to defend
Don't need to play anymore, can't wait for this to come out.
I think I might skip this game in Nov to see if'll they'll release another edition next year seeing that they've already announced a $50 Season Pass for it.
