Wow, these patches just seem to get bigger and bigger, don't they? When The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt initially launched, it took up around 29GB of our PlayStation 4's hard drive, but by the time that we've nabbed its latest update, that number's going to be closer to 50GB.
Ever-reliable CD Projekt Red community lead Marcin Momot has stated on Twitter that the role-playing release's upcoming update will weigh in at around 15GB on Sony's latest machine, so you'd best be prepared for a reasonably lengthy download session. To be fair, though, this new patch is so big that we couldn't even fit the notes into an article, so we suppose that we'll place our trust in the developer this time around. Plus, we'd imagine that this update will also consist of content from the title's first expansion, which is out next week. Or at least, at this size, we'd hope so.

Yeah.... I'll be uninstalling that sharpish. Not that it's bad, it's excellent. I just don't have any inclination to play it again.
That sucks. I replaced the stock HDD with a 1TB hybrid drive and I still ran out of space the other day. The size of game installs and patches these days is utterly ridiculous.
Ouch. The worst part is that I went through the list of fixes and found nothing about the Skellige's Most Wanted bug that makes it impossible to complete. How big you think that patch is going to be?
I loved The Witcher 3, and while I was initially excited about the expansions, after I beat it the first time, I really can't see myself playing through it again anytime soon, or at all. This patch is ridiculous though.... 15GB?!
So does the PS4 "play as you download" magic work on this, b/c by my estimates that would take 1 1/2 hours just to download. It's bad enough how many times I turn on my PS3 just to stream some Amazon Prime or Netflix I need to update first, can't imagine wanting to play a game I already own on disc and needing to wait 1 1/2 hours for a patch. W/ 15GB patches might as well just have the industry go all digital and be done w/ it.
Jesus,.... time to upgrade to a 2TB HDD. The 500GB HDD simply doesn't cut it anymore.
Will it fix the noise my PS makes when playing the game? Lol
and this is why Sony needs to focus on bring external hard drive compatibility instead of useless social features
Really liked the game but about halfway through it felt like too much of the same. Especially the hunting for clues thing gets old fast
Good game, but at this rate I'm not getting the dlc.
Wasn't going to get the game cause i didn't have the time or patience to invest in the insanely long story, and now i'm not going to get it because with the way the patches are going by the time i get it it will take me years to download.
Patiently waiting to play the new dlc (Hearts of stone) the latest patch with the dlc will be about 19 GB, glad that i have a 4TB hybrid.
Unfortunately this game had to be uninstalled and put aside because I had NO space for games I really wanted to play xD some day I will pop it back in and beat it.... Some day...
