LEGO Dimensions is the fastest selling toys-to-life title to release this year, comfortably overcoming the launch numbers for Skylanders Superchargers and Disney Infinity 3.0. In fact, the new kid on the block has enjoyed the third best UK opening in the genre as a whole, which must have publisher Warner Bros – already enjoying an incredible year, remember – rubbing its hands.
Of course, the title couldn't topple FIFA 16, which remained glued to the top as you may expect. NBA 2K16 entered in third, pushing Destiny: The Taken King down into fourth. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain slipped all the way down into seventh, with Grand Theft Auto V and Mad Max rounding out the top ten.
There was one other new release: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 scuffed its knee and limped into 12th on the back of bad reviews. Hopefully its price will plummet quicker than the extreme sports fad, as this author is eager to pick it up on the cheap. You can peruse the full best sellers list through here, but before you go, let us know where you've been splashing the cash of late.

No PES2016?? I really thought that people in the UK would be more into the 'football' PES is offering instead of the 'soccer' FIFA is bringing to the table.
I didn't expect PES just to take over FIFA obviously, but I hoped they would stay in the top 10 for quite some time by attracting people with some good old fashioned word-of-mouth marketing.
I thought Lego Dimensions was £80? Surprised it made 2nd at that price.
@Boerewors the issue people have with PES is the team names and player names. I have a few mates who are die hard Everton/Liverpool fans and can't stand the idea of playing as "Merseyside red/blue".
A huge part of the appeal of FIFA is that it has the current team rosters intact, so they can play as the team they support.
That and FIFA, for better or worse, is an event release now.
@Johnnycide
I understand cause my kids are exactly the same, albeit with Newcastle Utd, but even before PES was out there were files available to make the BPL teams look even better than on FIFA, there are some real wizards out there. So my kids stopped playing FIFA because of it and it took me about half an hour in total to edit everything.
I agree it's easier to just buy FIFA, but when the quality is lacking I rather put in some work and play a decent game of football. I asked my kids after playing FIFA on EA acces: so, do you like FIFA, or do you like football? Cause I honestly feel the people who buy FIFA are simply in love with the brand instead of with the beautiful game itself. FIFA seems like it's catering to Americans more and more and the game seems to adapt to what they think football is, whereas PES gives me the true Premier League feeling, but not until the whistle had blown unfortunately.
Nice to see Forza in the top 5, that game is awesome.
@Boerewors I hear ya! It's a real shame. EA should just release updates as DLC every year for half the price. They'd still make money on it.
From what I've heard it's a huge shame as PES has the better gameplay as well.
@Johnnycide
My thoughts exactly! Release a full game every other year, which you can even make more expensive if you like, and give people roster updates in the form of paid DLC. With a development cycle of 9-10 months which they are on now, we can't expect them to add any real value to the game, but if they have 2 full years I'm positive they can turn things around and make some worthwhile changes.
It will never happen of course because FIFA might be one of the most profitable game franchises in the world, but I would like to see them start over from scratch like PES did. PES was invisible during the PS3 era and for a good reason: the game sucked. They managed to mess up a game that was totally fine the way it was, where FIFA started with a blank slate, copied a lot from PES and transformed into a formidable game. But now the tables have turned, but it's a shame that EA has a strict monopoly on so many licenses so we have to choose between a mediocre game of 'soccer' or an excellent game of 'football' with Merseyside Red
These chart's are not in the slightest the real UK top 10. They don't include digital sale's as you know I don't know why people bother writing article's about the "fake" UK top 10 and even more baffled as to why people actualy discuss it like it count's.
People are knocking Fifa 16 without playing it. The game is better than ever once you have played enough games. Last night the footy was brilliant, the defending feels right and the goals always feel hard earned.
Its fecking brilliant. Well deserved. The best footy game for anyone who isn't a hippy.
@Boerewors you haven't even played FIFA 16. The changes are not superficial or short term. I know you like pes and good on you. Your blue wave thinking however, isnt gonna happen after the digital euro championship add on didn't sell well last gen. Why change it - its first and pes is nowhere.
FIFA 16 is the best fifa ever.
@themcnoisy
Although you're entitled to your own opinion, it's not fair to say I didn't play FIFA. I played the full 10 hours we got for free on EA acces with my kids, mostly to stop them from squandering their allowance on FIFA when we already own PES.
I'm glad you like this installment of FIFA, cause that's ultimately all that matters: online polls where FIFA gets crushed and almost all critics who say PES2016 might be the best football game ever are worth nothing to someone who enjoys his game! More power to you mate and I wish you and excellent season! See you next year!
