Yep, you'll soon be hearing the sound of bombs dropping. Fallout 4 is mere days away, so evidently the time is right for Bethesda to deploy the game's rather intriguing launch trailer. If you want to go into the new-gen wasteland blind, however, you may want to look away now.
The reasonably lengthy video shows locations and characters that are critical to the title's plot, and there's plenty of fresh gameplay footage, too. If you weren't already hyped for next week's launch date, then you probably will be after giving this a watch.
Needless to say, we'll have an absolute ton of Fallout 4 coverage right here on Push Square following title's long awaited release – so be sure to keep your irradiated peepers firmly pinned.

Hype, do I buy or not... been reading a few saying graphics aren't much more then what fallout 3 were, but I think it looks pretty neat. First thing I'll do. Change the ui to blue, that green looks horrid , like florescent green lol
The hype is too real
I want to believe this won't be a glitchy mess day one but I can't... That said I plan on getting it at some point.
As always when giving a choice going with a female character when I do get it.
@iv-tecman
Not much better than FO3?! Where did you read that..?
@FaultyDroid
There is an entire thread on neogaf about its graphics. Which to me is just hyperbole, I think it looks good to me...
@iv-tecman
Much has been said about its visuals since the leaks, Bethesda already said outright they didnt push the graphics & went for content instead. I think it looks as good as it should, when I think Fallout I dont think photo-realism anyways! I wouldnt put any stock in whats been said tbh, anyone who thinks the visuals are only marginally better than FO3 clearly never played FO3.
I can honestly say, ive never been so hyped up for a game. I loved Fallout 3 and this is bigger. I hope it lives up to the hype. Also, I hope that it runs on the ps4 well, as previous Bethesda games on the PlayStation brand have been a mess at the start.
The italian retail copy says "41 GB" for installation...
My body and my hard disk are ready, even if I read somewhere it was 28 GB...
@iv-tecman Trust me, those that say the graphics look no better or slightly better than Fallout 3 are complete idiots. I play Fallout 3 atleast once a week and the difference is night and day. See for yourself on YouTube.
@Splat One of my lucky friends already has it and he said its nowhere near as buggy as Fallout 3 was. Of course there will be bugs regardless as its a massive open world game. As with any Bethesda game, save and save often
@DragonSlayer1759 Its already been confirmed to be running as intended on PS4.
I can't believe it's November already! Also can't believe that next week is Fallout 4!!!! I'm taking that day off for sure! I'll marathon this game!
@iv-tecman do a google search for fallout 3 fallout 4 graphics comparison. You'll notice a huge difference. That said, fallout 3 wasn't especially a looker. It was very good though.
I'm so confused as to what this game is. Every few seconds in the video it reminds me of something else - a team FPS like COD, a solo FPS like Borderlands, a post apocalyptic story driven game like Last of Us, Jak 2. How the heck Jak 2 got in there I'm not sure, but the entire second half of the video was Jak 2 in photorealistic HD. I think at one point I heard somebody say "I'm going to kill Praxis!"
OK, watching it again, at the 1 minute mark, an off screen guy who sounds like Rorschach gives the same speech - in the same voice - as the rebel leader Torn in Jak 2. After that it all just fits.

So, what is this exactly? Somebody told me it plays both first and third person, but that's all I have. Can't be all those things.
I'm not gonna watch the trailer. I couldn't be more excited for this so I don't want anymore content until I actually play the game. Just a few more days!
@rjejr It's not a team FPS per se - the only teamwork is through AI companions. I don't believe there is any multiplayer. But overall, it is a lot of those things. Fallout 3 tried to do a lot of different things at once and succeeded in pulling a bunch of them off. They look into a lot of the small details and it is so good. This is coming from someone who much prefers the main line Elder Scrolls series, but still believes Fallout is great.
@topic Super exciting. Can't wait to play. I like how they used some old footage from other trailers, but had the female counterpart instead.
@ztpayne7 I don't think there is any multiplayer either, but w/ all the guys yelling it was starting to get that look of going into battle w/ an AI team. I play a lo of JRPG - no western ones - and I'm used to having that team. In Boderlands - well as much of it as I played before getting bored - it was just me. I'm not a big fan of the Metroid Prime games for the same reason. I thought this was just 1 guy in the wilderness like Mad Max but he seems to make some friends along the way. Which is good. I still haven't played Skyrim - which I own on PS3 - b/c I'm afraid of getting bored. Tomb Raider had enough NFC to keep it interesting.
Can not wait!! Need me a railway rifle!
@rjejr RPG via F/3PS. It's closest to Oblivion or Skyrim in terms of parameters. Borderlands is a hollow, plot-less parody of Fallout, at least aesthetically, if that helps. Serious in tone (death everywhere) but ironic or tongue-in-cheek for comic relief, which makes for a compelling rhythm. Allusions and Easter eggs abound, so it's kind of a "smart" franchise but it won't hurt to learn something new while you play by using Wikipedia. I love the whole Fallout experience and recommend it to everyone over 17 😉
@iv-tecman if your still buying games for graphics you should stop playing
@GlynCR hey be fair, I never said it looked bad, I was just mentioning that some are up in arms over its look, whereas I originally did state I think it looked pretty neat anyhow. Reason I'm going do I buy now is only due to battlefront mid month and I'm still plugging away at assassin creed syndicate. But if you're referring to anyone else should stop buying games if graphics is all they care about. Well again, if eye candy is their own thing, then that's up to them... Graphics, gameplay, style of game, its all personal preference..
@iv-tecman wasn't just aimed at you, was at people who hold graphics as the most important thing I find that to be very sad to be fair
@Splat I tend to play as female characters as well don't know especially as I play Fallout in 1st person
