Well, well, well. While we all wait eagerly for Sony to officially announce PlayStation 2 titles for the PlayStation 4, it looks like Rockstar has decided to remain its contrary self – by finally deciding to bring its updated version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas to the… Well, PlayStation 3. You may remember a little hullabaloo about this in 2014, when a version with achievements was released for the Xbox 360 but not the Japanese giant's last-gen machine.
It seems that the firm's finally decided to bring the port to the PS3, however, as a batch of Trophies for the sandbox smash have popped up on PSN Profiles. While the icons are different, the gongs are almost identical to the Xbox 360 achievements, so it's safe to say that this is the exact same 720p version. Digital Foundry actually revealed at the time that this is merely a mobile port, so it's not worth getting too excited about. Still, it seems like it's coming soon regardless.

The PS3 probably still has somewhat of a user base in Europe, but I would imagine in North America it's pretty non-existent.
Huh, so seeing this in a PS3 case in GAME wasn't supposed to be so weird after all.
I already have the PS2 port, not getting the mobile port just because it has trophies.
Haven't played San Andreas for ages. Officer twopenny was a right horrible copper.
In GTA V did anyone revisit grove street? (it was part of some Trevor missions) Were any other locations or characters in both games?
Perhaps this will pave the way for the PS2 version on PS4
Grab it while it's £3 if you haven't got it and still use a PS3, have to admit I mainly use PS4 now but I like to play some claasics, every now and then.
@sub12 The user base in South America is huge! PS3 is gonna last for years, yet. I'm sure there are some people still playing PS2.
@carlos82 dang! I thought this was a ps2 port I still have all my GTA PS2 Games Ready for deployment!
Meh wake me up when they release true HD Remasters/Remakes for GTA 3, Sand Andreas, and Vice City.
I was waiting for ages for the mobile HD port to come out...on my Vita...where we need it. sighs
