Call of Duty: Black Ops III enjoyed its second week at the top of the Japanese software charts according to the latest Media Create numbers. Proving that the shooter really does have worldwide appeal, the blast-'em-up sold through 43,629 copies in the last seven days, boosting total sales to a relatively impressive figure of 187,446 units.
Elsewhere, Assassin's Creed Syndicate entered in third place, while Need for Speed roared into sixth. Meanwhile, the PlayStation 4 stood strong, shifting 27,311 units and remaining at the top of the hardware charts. Fortunately for Sony, the system seems to have found some reasonable momentum following its price cut last month. In fact, the new-gen console has now passed the two million mark in its homeland, which isn't too shabby.

I don't wanna rain on the parade but if you combine all the 3DS sales, it sold better than the PS4 :/
Of course it did, fairly well known that Japan's gaming market is more heavily focused on handheld gaming and mobile. Having sold 2 million ps4's is actually pretty impressive considering how well the competition has done. One question though, do they not like Fallout in Japan? Or is it not released there yet or something? Would have figured that it would be pretty popular over there.
@AliceScott Got to take those small victories when we can!
@SonyInfinity It releases next month in Japan.
@ShogunRok @SonyInfinity And my understanding is that Bethesda RPGs do quite well over there. I believe Skyrim in particular put up very respectable numbers.
I bet the Japenese are damn good at BOPS as well
@ShogunRok I figured that had to be the case, as I am sure it will do really well. On a side note, found a lady selling a two headed Brahmin last night, so I bought it and sent it to my farm town, lol. So awesome
I don't believe cod world at war did well in Japan.....
