October was one heck of a busy month for us here at Push Square. We reviewed an absolutely massive 44 titles across 31 days – which is surely some sort of record. There were big scores aplenty, as well as some big releases - but it wouldn't have been the year's spookiest month without some real horrors to go along with the good stuff. Was October a good month of gaming for you? Peruse our reviews and let us know what you've been playing in the comments section below.
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection - 9/10
Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is probably the best PS4 remaster thus far – and the system's had more than enough of them to give that statement weight. While there are small elements of all three bundled titles that have failed to stand the test of time, this is still a stellar trilogy, with stories and set-pieces that generally tend to better most modern games. Of course, existing fans will already know what wonders await them – but newcomers should brace themselves for 30 or so hours of solid gold.
Assassin's Creed Syndicate - 6/10
Much like the Victorian city that it's based upon, you have to dig into Assassin's Creed Syndicate in order to identify its problems. The core gameplay loop is solid and it's built upon a sound structure, but familiarity and filler lessen the appeal of this open world outing. Vastly improved performance and all around impressive presentation mean that London's most definitely not burning – but there may be a little panic in the offices at Ubisoft.

i don't understand the point of reviewing a remaster game ? i dont mean here in Pushsquare but in general.
@ShogunRok where's Disgaea 5??? Its a conspiracy.
@Neolit ok , i understand , thanks for your time , i didn't see it like that before
@animalovich Reviewing a remaster definitely requires a different mentality. It's all about how well the game has aged, what's been done to improve it, is it worth revisiting, etc.
@get2sammyb thanks , got it now
Crikey, that's a lot of reviews. Go team!
@themcnoisy The Disgaea review was in September, got a 8/10.

Quite surprised you reviewed so many games this month actually, I guess I should pay more attention. Well done!
@themcnoisy We reviewed Disgaea last month with the American release!
There's @kyleforrester87 beating me to the punch two hours earlier. Whoops!
@ShogunRok @kyleforrester87 yeah I reread the review earlier and replied to a comment as well underneath the review. Cant believe it only got an 8 whilst Journey and Rapture get 10. But different strokes for different folks I guess.
After reading some metacritic reviews for Disgaea 5 I have pretty much list hope on humanity one reviewer has given the game 55%. Gobsmacked. Its 95%. 9.5/10. A. Essential. Seal of Approval. 5 stars. Best TRPG ever. But I should of brought that up last month.
@themcnoisy but if you're someone who doesn't really like anamie, which - like it or not - is the case most often, it pretty much rules the game out for you. I played the demo for a couple of hours and just found it really unappealing. Will give it another go when I see it for cheap though as I'm aware it's a good game once you get going. And asthetics aside, it's still a pretty niche genre and it asks a lot, even of gamers who are typically quite used to playing things outside of their comfort zone. IMO Divinity is heads and shoulders over everything else on the list but I can appreciate turn based isometric RPGs arnt overly mainstream. Oh well!
@kyleforrester87 How can you not like Anime? Haha.
I see your point but 55% is a complete joke. Ok you may not like the aesthetics but the game is like computer crack.
@themcnoisy Yeah well, 55% is clearly wrong. But things can still be great but remain niche - like football management sims, they are great fun but you're never gunna appeal to everybody with them!
