What? Is CoD out this week? I honestly thought it would be out the same week as FO for some reason. Sweet, I'll get my fridge this week I guess
People like me are seriously the reason for the "greed of the industry" Sam (Brooke, not Barker ) talked about in his editorial piece; I don't even like CoD that much, just play the campaign every year, yet I order a €199 CE because "12 cans of beer"....
I'm sorry y'all!
@Neolit
Hmm, guess your profile pic isn't Lenin with glasses after all
@Bliquid
Is there anything in particular you'd like to discuss then? I'm sorry for going off topic on my last comment. But my first was kinda on topic and shows that at least where I live the usual CoD marketing machine isn't running like it always did.
I think people need a breather, just like AC needs to skip at least a year imo. I do think there is a way around it for Activision, a way that most fans wouldn't mind: a MW2 remake. MW2 is one of the most requested remakes and by remaking it and putting all DLC on the disc from the start, Activision still has its yearly CoD money and can spend their extra year switching to a new engine or something.
@Neolit ROTFL
If Trails in the Sky SC doesn't show up on the EU store before the end of the month, I think I'll have a nervous breakdown - nothing worse than to read "educated" comments from who's already playing it after waiting for years... "Uuuuh I don't wanna spoil it for you but it's so good!" "Ah, you can't imagine what happens to one of the characters!".
The beta was pretty great so im Strangely excited for black ops 3 (£80 on ps store...sharing it between our 2 ps4 so 2 games, 2 season passes bargain!) maybe because i missed the hype for AW last year as i was in Philippines
Treyarch seem to be doing everything right co-op campaign, mp, zombies plus a couple of other modes in there and loads of customisation and the focus on current gen and pc(pc gets even more with mods and maps coming later) ..cant wait
Personally I look forward to CoD each year. By the time it comes out, usually I have beaten the campaign, played all the co-op content and played all the MP Maps (inc DLC) to death and reached max prestige so looking for that 'new' challenge and experience. Every CoD may have a certain amount of similar traits but for me there is often a significant amount of differences too. Treyarchs CoD games over the last few have proven to be my favourites too and really looking forward to having next Gen Zombies as well as the co-op campaign and MP too.
Personally I don't want a MW2 remake! It's also one of the most broken and unbalanced games of the franchise with the Noob tubes/danger close/scavenger combination as well as one mans army too. Also the one game that made quick/no scoping so annoying. I do think it is looked on with 'rose tinted specs' as it was one of the first many played, one where a lot of friends were made, one where you made up your own games (like mike myers and snipers on rust) and one that many youtubers made their name on. As a result many people 'think' its the best because of social factors but in terms of actual MP gameplay it was very broken.
WW2 era is also requested a lot but I think it would stifle creativity as the developers would be restricted by a certain amount of authenticity. You wouldn't get the new movement mechanics, interesting weaponry/scorestreaks etc.
I don't know why everyone wants a 'new' engine either. What do they hink a new engine will bring? The old engine is a long way removed from its first incarnation in the franchise. It certainly couldn't be used to make BO3! Each studio's engine is now vastly different from each others as they have modified and tweaked it over the years to suit their style and development team. Whilst at its core, it does have the same starting point, its still very different. Its like Fords using the same engine block in its GT40 as it does in its pick-ups - they both perform very differently. The modern engine in todays cars hasn't changed for over a hundred years at its core but with modification, bolt-ons (like turbos and superchargers) etc, it performs very differently!
First CoD that I'm not buying at launch, too many other games to finish and enjoy. If the reviews are good though I'm sure I'll pick it up at some point!
Dragon Fin Soup is a pretty good old school RPG, I recently bought Pier Solar as that's the kind of game I was looking for but DFS much better suit's my need's atm, good game. CoD for me this week, I skipped the last two as CoD started to suck but I tried and loved the beta so I decided now's the time to reinvest can't wait.
