We're right in the thick of the busy Christmas releases period now, with Call of Duty: Black Ops III no doubt consuming plenty of attention this weekend – and Fallout 4 now mere days away. As always, we've invited a gaggle of enthusiastic staffers to share their weekend gaming plans – but we want to know what you're up to, too.

I've got the Need for Speed – or something. In truth, I've not been all that impressed with Ghosts Games' reboot, and you'll be able to read why in my review, which should be with you very soon. I do like the cutscenes, though, bruh.

Fallout 4 is coming out a day before my last exam in what has been a cataclysmically busy uni year, so I'll be spending my weekend training up my endurance in order to not play it while studying. My regime consists of finding every chest in Assassin's Creed Syndicate.

This weekend, I'm planning on playing a fair bit of Call of Duty: Black Ops III. I've only managed to scratch the surface of this new release so far, mainly due to falling asleep during the first mission of the campaign. I'm really hoping this "incident" had more to do with the case of Fallout beer I was working through, rather than the quality of the game.

Halo 5 has been surprisingly fun given how much I loathe Halo 4 – I just can't get away from it. And I still have a The Witcher III expansion that I've been neglecting. I need to fix that!

This weekend I'm playing an otome visual novel called Code: Realise - Guardian of Rebirth. It's a really interesting take on the genre; all the male characters are based on existing fictional characters – currently I'm playing through the Victor Frankenstein route. So far the game has provided lots of plot twists and excitement, so hopefully there's more to come as I head into the final chapters!

Peter Cullen is commanding me assertively in a robotic voice to play more of Transformers: Devastation, so while Batman: Arkham Knight is my current favourite game of 2015, Transformers: Devastation has bulldozed and brawled its way into my choice of second best for the year – a bit like the Constructicon Bonecrusher, actually.

It's all about MLG skills, Doritos, and Mountain Dew this weekend, since I've gotten together with three friends to play zombies and the entire campaign of Call of Duty: Black Ops III. So far I'm disappointed by the latter to my great surprise, but I hope that it picks up as the missions go on. I'll also be dipping into Nidhogg and TowerFall Ascension among other titles with them as we game on.

This weekend it's going to be mucho gunplay and bloodshed with Call of Duty: Black Ops III which is fun so far, with a side order of super-refined Japanese strategy in Disgaea 5. Plus, I've still got to finish the extra tough Dragon Quest Heroes additional quests now that the main campaign is done.

My friends and I decided to revisit Toukiden Kiwami to attempt the last few Trophies that we're missing. Finishing all of the missions and collecting all the weapons is going to be a daunting task, but Toukiden turned out to be one of my favourite games this year. Regardless, my fingers could use a break from playing the drums on Rock Band 4.

This weekend I'll be playing plenty of Call of Duty: Black Ops III, running through the campaign and trying out the zombies mode. If I've got time, I'll try to finish The Witcher III – yes, I haven't yet – because I really ought to before Just Cause 3 comes out.

I'll be busy, busy this weekend, hopping through the parallax planes of Poncho. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for my imminent review, especially if you're a fan of little robots, platformers, or attire of Native American descent (thanks Wikipedia).

By some miracle, I actually have a full weekend off from work, so hopefully that means a lot of gaming for me this weekend. As such, it looks like some more classic Genesis gaming for me. First up will be Mega Man 3 in Mega Man the Wily Wars, and after that I will finally answer for myself which version of Aladdin is the best when I play the Genesis version for the first time ever. Also, I might squeeze in some Diablo III on the PS4 somewhere in there.
Will you be blasting your way through the latest Call of Duty like the rest of our team, or have you got another game in mind this weekend? Fire off in the comments section below.

I'll be playing Persona 4: Dancing All Night, and Farming Simulator 16 on Vita. Don't judge me.
I'm gonna Dance All Night all weekend.
Might throw in some Garden Warfare and Freedom Planet.
After many years I decide to buy an FPS. Black ops3 and I love it.
I'll be playing Uncharted 2, along with some other nic-nacs. Truth be told, this isn't gonna be a game heavy weekend, since I've been getting some bad headaches recently and just general laziness. I was also stupid enough to put an open soda package on top of the box that has most of my PS3 games, an don't want to move it out of fear of making a mess. Yay me!
Disgaea 5 - going to stop tinkering like Ranieri and get on with the main game.... Oh who am I kidding my ocd kicks in everytime I see a menu.
@Tasuki its the mega drive version which is the best remember ABRACADABRA
@get2sammyb how come you picked nfs to review over cod?
I picked up Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 yesterday and haven't gotten a chance to play it at all yet, so I'm gonna hop into multiplayer and zombies later. After a good bit of that, I'll change gears and go for some Rockband 4, Tales of Zestiria, and Yoshi's Wooly World.
Want to finish my play through of uncharted 3 before Fallout consumes me. I've written off The Witcher until a quite spell next year. I need to play through Project Zero 5, might try it ARlike with just the gamepad.
Was enjoying Dragon Fin Soup on the Vita, but it crashes a bit too much, so I think I'll have to wait for a fix. Went back and did a few MGS5 missions earlier as well. Might finish it one day.
@themcnoisy I'm not really as up to date with my Call of Dutys as I should be, to be honest. Plus, I was really looking forward to Need for Speed...
at moment am playing Bloodborne , but my fallout 4 will arrive tomorrow morning ... and i still didn't finish bloodborne yet ... so i will just finish bloodborne than i will hit the wasteland
@get2sammyb so are you disappointing with NFS ?
PS4 - Assassin's Creed: Syndicate and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3
Xbox One - Halo 5: Guardians
@get2sammyb, looking forward to the review. Will it up by the middle of next week?
@themcnoisy Well after playing the Genesis version now I can see why it's regarded as the better version. The music is great the level design is top notch as well and the graphics really capture the movie. The only complaint I have is the controls and hit detection. The controls feel very slippery to me especially when I try to stop on a short platform, alot of times I find myself slipping right off. And the hit detection I find a bit off a few times I have found myself falling through platforms that I should have landed on (I would literally go right through the middle of them) and I found at times enemies hitting me when they shouldn't have been able to reach me like through a wall for example.
Still it is a great game and I am looking forward to playing some more later on.
I will be playing Defiance. Probably dive into hell with Helldivers. Maybe some Disney Infinity 3.0 Rise of the Rebellion too.
@animalovich Yeah, it's not very good. It's grown on me a tiny bit since I did my First Impressions, but it's still bleh.
@Gamer83 There's a good chance it'll be up later tonight.
DriveClub has finally clicked with me and I can't stop playing it trying to collect stars I've missed. I'm also really enjoying the bikes add-on. Also need to play through Hearts of Stone and get back to the UC Collection at some point. Ordered P3 FES for my PS2 today also so I'll have some late nights coming up.
Ten hours into the rather good Tales of Zesteria so will continue that, hope to sneak in a TWD episode somewhere too. Vita is patiently awaiting P4DAN's arrival early next week
PS4
Call of Duty Black Ops 3
Tales of Zesteria
X1
Halo 5
Wii U
Yoshi's Wooly World
Vita
Persona 4 Golden
3DS
Zelda Triforce Heroes
Ill be playing Assassins's Creed: Syndicate this weekend. There's a chance Skyrim, COD4, or Thief: Deadly Shadows will also grab my attention.
Mega Man Anniversary Collection (PS2): I will be finishing off Mega Man 3, just like @Tasuki, then moving on to Mega Man 4.
Final Fantasy XIV (PS4): Will be continuing to play as my lvl 38 black mage.
Knack (PS4): on chapter 10 on hard, and probably will be finishing the game this weekend. This game oddly reminds me of Crash Bandicoot in the style of gamely
@Tasuki the genesis version is way better. If you want a free one up, at the beginning of the desert level, there will be mickey ears on a cloths line, line up Aladdin's head with the ears and you'll hear a "puke" noise that said you did it right! http://www.seganerds.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Aladdin-Mickey-Ears.jpg
@Neolit South Park was one of my favourite games last gen, really can't wait for the new one. I didn't have much interest in Just Cause 3 until watching some videos recently and now I've preordered it.
As for this weekend I've finished the Witcher at last and will be leaving the dlc for now even though I have it. So will be a bit of Rocket League and maybe another play through of Until Dawn before Fallout 4 arrives and takes over my life.
@hYdeks Thanks for the tip. As for which one is better I feel like I am going to have to play the SNES version again as the last time I played it was when it first came out. But from what I remember of it yeah so far the Genesis is a tad bit better except for those little hiccups I said eariler.
You are all making me wanna play Black Ops III! I will get it at some point I'm sure. Finished assassin's creed syndicate and picked up the platinum so this weekend I'll probably make a start on Uncharted collection and Until Dawn.
Probably throw in a few Destiny strikes - though im 298 light now, so apart from raiding my progression has come to an end apart from nightfalls which still offer potential updates.
So, did anyone else experience server issues earlier on Black Ops 3 on PS4? It wouldn't let me play in a online match at all, so I gave up and took a nap. I'm hoping it was just a background install that I needed to do first, so I just left my console sit turned on for a bit.
Divinity and Driveclub...Apparently all the best games begin with D (Diablo, Destiny)
@JaxonH I'm genuinely always interested to see what your playing each weekend, you always have such mental schedule happy gaming!
As for me it's gonna be Bloodbourne tonight then Final Fantasy IX on Vita tomorrow as I'm away from my ps4. Absolutely love Bloodbourne, it's pushing hard to be my fave game ever!
Blops 3 for me and playing some Mario galaxy with my youngest daughter
Splatoon and Chibi-Robo: Zip-Lash, after a week of Super Mario Sunshine and Resistance 3 with a housemate.
@kyleforrester87 Nah that's reserved for the letter S. Streets of rage (best beat em up) Sonic and Super Mario World (best platformers) Sim City and Settlers (best strategy) Swos (best footy) Super Punch out (best boxing)Street fighter (best fighting) Summer Games (best multi event game) Snatcher (best cop game) Shen-mue (best open world) Silk Worm and Swiv (Best scrolling shoot em ups) Strider (best sprites) Silent Hill (best horror) Silent Hunter (best war game) South park stick of truth (best comedy) Secret of monkey island (best point and click) Speedball (best made up sport) But D also has Dizzy, Doom and Disgaea not to mention Dungeon Master. So its a tough call.
@themcnoisy haha dunno think you are scraping the barrel with some of those anyway, your favourite Disgaea is a D, too
@kyleforrester87 your right its at the bottom of my list if you look - with Dungeon master, Doom and Dizzy. T has a shout as well thinking about it.
@themcnoisy Ah sorry read on my phone and didn't see that bit!
playing Mad Max & Life is Strange
both are great game specially Mad Max, it got me by surprise.
Still slowly progressing through Dragon Quest Heroes! Also a little Gears of War 3 horde. I've been in more of a reading mood than gaming mood recently.
Excited for Resident Evil Origins Collection launching in January, I'm playing Umbrella Chronicles and Darkside Chronicles.
@get2sammyb Who's doing the Fallout 4 review? any idea when it will be up? Looking forward to it!
Have been playing a lot of Fifa 16 recently and probably going to go and get the first Uncharted finished tonight!
Final Fantasy X HD and maybe a bit of Dragon Quest Heroes
Getting ready for Bethesda gaming on Tuesday with Old Blood and The New Order. If the shooting mechanics in fallout are as good as what was made for wolfenstein, even better!
I've been playing The Walking dead Season 2 after finishing s1 last week. Thoroughly enjoying it and it's possibly my favourite plus game in over a year. Should have it finished by Tuesday. No sign of @Shogunrok in this article? That's strange......
Back on topic I'm playing the waiting game of looking at my Amazon account and going "hnnnnnng" waiting for Fallout 4.
This year has been so good for AAA releases! Honestly think it might be a vintage year, one to look back on and shed a single manly tear while recounting your tales of fultoning sheep, making your mark on the wasteland, saving Gotham, hunting Siri and slaying Yarnham's nightmares.
@Johnnycide Got a feeling @Shogunrok is reviewing Fallout 4 hopefully!
I've been playing the PS+ games so far. Dragon Fin Soup has the makings of an awesome Mystery Dungeon game if they'd just patch the UI issues and massive amounts of bugs. Also got Yo-Kai Watch to play until Tuesday when Fallout comes out.
Resident evil remastered has made my PS4 warm this weekend!
@Patinator my thoughts exactly buddy!
@SonyInfinity I think you may be disappointed there. Fallout is solid, but the engine they're using has never lent itself to being a traditional shooter.
Getting ready for Bethesda gaming on Tuesday with Old Blood and The New Order. If the shooting mechanics in fallout are as good as what was made for wolfenstein, even better!
Oops, double post!
I have too many unfinished games and not enough time. My weekend starts this Monday so Im looking forward to Black op 3, I also got got Halo 5 (gasps) and I havent even played it yet. Also working on driveclub and forza 6
@Patinator Tomorrow.
@SonyInfinity Bethesda said Fallout 4's shooting mechanics are heavily inspired by Destiny.
@get2sammyb Yessss!
@JesWood13 Good thing that is the absolute best part of Destiny. The shooting in Destiny is top notch, and was enough to hook me for months, even with a story and repetitive game play. Super excited for fsllout, my Goty already know it.
@SonyInfinity Agreed, haha. I'm so excited for Fallout 4.
After playing a couple hours of fustrating shadow warrior decided I needed musuo in my life! Playing warriors orochi 3 ultimate. It made me grin like a kid again. Pure senseless fun! Wish I had played a musuo game on ps3/ps2 days!
black ops 3,need for speed and project cars
Black Ops 3, MGS5 and Tales of Zestiria - I need a vacation lol ^^
@bbq_boy You not like Shadow Warrior? It's great especially for the price too.
