Ah, CD Projekt Red. When you're not giving us free downloadable content and providing outrageously good expansions for low prices, you're praising other developers for their hard work - and it's quite heart-warming to see.
What we often forget is that the people who make games tend to be a a lot like us - they, you know, play games. The Polish studio's senior technical artist, José Teixeira, has told GameReactor that Bethesda's titles usually have a big impact on the development team, with Fallout 4's recent release leading to "a lot of 'colds' in the studio during the launch week".
"Bethesda makes absolutely great games, no doubt about that, and everything they do serves as inspiration for us, although we hope that the opposite is also true," Teixeira said. "Here in the studio we are all major gamers, and although each one has their preferences, almost everyone loves RPGs. I think this rivalry between the two studios ultimately benefits both the players, and the studios themselves, forcing us to always do better," he added.
You can't really ask for a better attitude than that, can you? Did you pull a few sick days to play Fallout 4 when it launched? Do you prefer The Witcher 3 over Bethesda's titles? Feel free to role-play in the comments section below.

Witcher 3 has been, without a doubt, the best game of the year for me. Wish more developers would follow suit.
Nope, I booked time off like a good boy. I would have pulled a sickie though if I were lacking leave days.
I had planned a 10 day vaca beginning the 10th, however due to an unforeseen medical issue I was out of work nearly all of October. So I cancelled my vacation, and have been taking fallout in slowly.
One of the best rpgs ever made, and better than anything from bethesda (while I love Oblivion, Morrowind and New Vegas, I'm not a fan)
I'd have ended up in trouble if I had another sick day so I couldn't. That was a long day in the office....
So awesome.
No sick days, but I did plan a vacation day for when DKC Tropical Freeze launched and for when Mario Kart 8 launched on Wii U (LOVE those franchises). And I have a 3 day weekend planned for Xenoblade X and a 4 day weekend planned for when Fire Emblem Fates releases this February.
Probably do the same for Final Fantasy XV and Star Ocean 5.
@hanajimaismycat for me the best game of the year has been Life is Strange. No other game has had me as engaged as it had. Truly a masterpiece IMHO.
@NomNom my daughter was so invested in Life is Strange that I got hours of play-by-play after each episode
I reckon Geralt could easily take down an alpha deathclaw.
@hanajimaismycat same here man one of the best games I've ever played! Still most of the time s Bethesda game releases it gets and deserves a goty maybe not this year......
i had used up all of my vacation/sick time so i wasnt planning on taking tim eoff for FO4 but once it was in my hands i couldnt help my self the next morning i called in sick. couldnt care less that i wasnt getting paid. i was getting paid in caps
Nah, I went to class like a good student. Which made playing F4 when I got out all the better.
