Done with Ludwig, The Holy Blade in Bloodborne? Well, you won't have to wait long to get your next From Software fix, as Bandai Namco has confirmed that Dark Souls III will die again and again and again starting 12th April in Europe and North America. The publisher revealed the date alongside a new trailer, which is just about as badass as you'd expect.
The firm also confirmed various pre-order options which are available now. Simply purchasing the game on day one will net you the Apocalypse Edition, which comes with a CD soundtrack and a metal case. Sadly, if you're in the UK, you'll need to shop at GAME to nab that. Meanwhile, the Collector's Edition will include a 10-inch Red Knight statue among other goodies, while the Prestige Edition will be exclusive to Amazon.co.uk and will include a gigantic Lord of Cinder resin figurine.
In anticipation of PlayStation Experience this weekend, the developer has also deployed a new gameplay trailer showing off a particularly harrowing boss fight. While we won't delve into too many details for fear of spoilers, we will say that you'll struggle to see the forest for the trees in the embedded clip. Those that watch it will know what we mean.

Is there just never going to be another Demon Souls?
Eurogamer says it's March? http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-12-04-dark-souls-3-release-date-pre-order-editions-detailed
@Worlock_ed They're wrong.
@get2sammyb They've updated it now to April.
Looks epic!
I want it all.
This might make no sense at all, but it doesn't really feel like Dark Souls from what I've seen; it looks like Bloodborne with a Dark Souls setting. DS for me is approaching enemies carefully and being afraid for what's waiting behind every corner, where BB has a much faster pace. The pace and special moves really give a BB feel, which is a shame imo. The IPs can totally live side by side, but not when the combat is more or less the same...it'll feel more like a reskin than a totally different game.
The CE of DS2 was one of the most dissapointing CEs I've ever bought. It didn't really feel as if they put some thought in it, but just made a really cheap looking and feeling knight to satisfy the need for a CE. I am curious about the expensive Prestige Edition though, although I would hate it if I pay the full price just to see Amazon selling it for €100 less a few months later. I've had this with both Titanfall and Halo 5 and it's not just a slap in the face, but it also makes you wonder how limited it really is.
@Boerewors Agreed that it looks very similar to Bloodborne in combat. On the one hand it is a shame to see the series' overlap, but on the other — more Bloodborne is good with me.
Can. Not. Wait.
Praise the Sun!
@Worlock_ed March in Japan I read
Looks good. Enjoyed Bloodborne more than DS2 so..will give this a good look.
@get2sammyb A bit off topic, but one more boss (Queen) and I get the plat! The Pthumerian Descendant was the hardest for me. I lost count on how many times I died. I'm gonna need a break from Souls games!
@Aslanmagic congo-rats! ~(,, ,,)> ~(,, ,,)> ~(,, ,,)*>
Having just finished the platinum and the DLC, I can say with confidence that the queen was really not that hard compared to the stuff leading up to her, but I was level ~155 by the time I got there and using LHB.
@Mega-Gazz so glad to hear!
Ok, I shouldn't be this excited but I just got platinum in Bloodborne!
@Aslanmagic congrats! Well worth the effort.
@B3ND3R thank you! Now I'll get to play other games.
