Codemasters has proven a shadow of its former self on the PlayStation 4 thus far, shipping F1 2015 and not a whole lot else. Fortunately, while the decision seemed strange at the time, DiRT Rally has proven an enormous success in Early Access – and it looks like the simulation could be taking a long easy right all the way to Sony's new-gen machine.
Twitter user Lifelower noticed that the game had been rated for the system in Taiwan, which is usually an indication that an announcement is right around the corner. As is always the case with these kinds of leaks, nothing is set in stone – but it's incredibly rare for a classifications board to, well, classify something that doesn't exist. It's totally coming.
Of course, the PS4 already has a serviceable rally game in WRC 5, but DiRT Rally purportedly takes things to the next level. We must admit that we will miss the gymkhana antics of the PlayStation 3 series, but people have been yearning for a return to the Colin McRae days for years, so we suppose that it's about time that the developer went back to its roots.
