Trailers are an important part of out favourite industry these days. One single trailer can often make or break the hype for an upcoming release, and we've taken on the task of assembling a list dedicated to the very best of 2015. Of course, even if you don't agree with our choices, we invite you to watch the embedded videos anyway. After all, why would't you want to experience the hype all over again?
10. Detroit: Become Human - Announcement Trailer
Essentially Cloud Atlas: The Cage Cut, Detroit: Become Human uses every trailer trick in the book: time lapses, slow motion, quivering strings, and delay pedals. But while it doesn't exactly rip up the rule book, Quantic Dream successfully sets the backdrop for its racially charged android-in-America romp by re-introducing the character of Kara and showing the harsh world that she will attempt to integrate herself into.
9. Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom - Announcement Trailer
Taking us all by surprise right near the end of Sony's PlayStation Experience press conference, Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom was a sight for sore eyes. A sequel to an already gorgeous PlayStation 3 role-playing game, the title's announcement trailer is as eye-catching as any other video that you'll have seen this year. Showcasing colour, style, and a bucketload of charm, it's hard not to get hyped about the potential of this Level-5 developed adventure.
8. Fallout 4 - Reveal Trailer
Once we knew that Fallout 4 was coming, everyone was raring to see Bethesda's latest for the first time – and its initial trailer certainly didn't disappoint. Okay, so the character animations look a bit janky, but this is a clip that really gets the old hype flowing – especially when the game's powerful main musical theme kicks in. All in all, it's a fantastic example of what a reveal trailer should be, leaving us excited but desperate to see more.
7. Horizon: Zero Dawn - Reveal Trailer
For a developer that's been chained to the dead-end Killzone franchise for a decade, Horizon: Zero Dawn's debut trailer offered creative relief for the finally free Guerrilla Games. A bold role-playing game set in a post-post-apocalyptic sandbox, Joris de Man's sweeping score complements footage of a world that's both familiar and unrecognisable at the same time, as the Dutch developer stamps down its intention to deliver an experience unlike anything that we've seen from the studio before.
6. Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection - Story Trailer
Phwoar, what a trailer this is. Superbly paced and brilliantly put together, this two minute glimpse of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is guaranteed to get any fan of the franchise casting their mind back to the crazy adventures of a certain plucky treasure hunter. Somehow tying all three titles into one emotional clip, this is a video that's as precious as the trinkets dotted throughout its runtime – and that musical score is just downright glorious.
5. The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited - Full Cinematic Trailer
Okay, so it may be 23 minutes long, but this trailer for The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited is arguably the most epic on this list. Showcasing a relentless war between the game's three factions which culminates in a final battle against lead villain Mannimarco, the whole thing's simply a joy to watch. We don't even want to think about how much this must have cost to create, but hey, at least we think that it was worth it. Dim the lights, grab some snacks, and give it a watch.
4. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain - Launch Trailer
Just like the games that he's made, Hideo Kojima's launch trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is long winded and maybe a tad overdramatic, but that's ultimately the beauty of it. Superbly timed to the emotional voice of Stefanie Joosten, the five minute video almost feels like a goodbye to the franchise from its creator, as it jumps through the series and ends with some show stopping footage from the latest instalment. A trailer well worth saluting with your bionic arm.
3. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Cinematic Launch Trailer
A CG masterpiece, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was just days away from launch when this trailer hit the 'net, and boy did it get people hyped. Focusing on the darker side of hunting and slaying monsters, Geralt goes up against a vampire masquerading as a young woman. At points, it's a genuinely creepy creation, and at others, it's soaked in bloody action that's brilliant to watch. Expertly crafted, it's a trailer that sums up the game's mood and tone extremely well.
2. Persona 5 - Gameplay Trailer
Without a doubt the most stylish trailer of 2015, Persona 5's gameplay reveal mixes drawn animation with clips from the highly anticipated role-playing release, and the result is sublime. What's more, this particular video debuted all the way back in February of this year, so you know that it must be good to have wedged itself firmly into our brains for this long. Plus, that relaxed backing track just fills us with confidence: we all know that Persona 5 is going to be brilliant.
1. Final Fantasy VII Remake - Announcement Trailer
The video that had people around the world putting their hands on their head and shouting at their display in disbelief, the E3 2015 Final Fantasy VII Remake announcement trailer couldn't have been anywhere but at the very top of this list. Not only is the whole thing pure, uncut hype, it's also expertly paced and masterfully pieced together. We're not lying when we say that we still get tingles up our spine when Cloud's iconic buster sword comes into view.
And there we have it: 2015's ten best PS4 trailers – according to us, at least. Do you agree? Do you disagree? Feel free to tell us of your own favourite trailers in the comments section below.

Great article - enjoyed watching some of these again. Totally agreed that Final Fantasy VII Remake is the best - the pause before 'Remake' appears is glorious. I voted Horizon: Zero Dawn, though, because I thought that set the scene for Guerrilla's new game brilliantly.
All of the trailers on this list are excellent, though.
Have to love a good trailer. The FF7 one is weird, it doesn't really show you much at all, but still brings a tear to my eye every time, you're right, it is very well done, the way they build up to it.
@LieutenantFatman I think it's initially what gave me the hope that the remake will actually be good. Square could easily have released a teaser that was basically nothing but a logo, and people would have bought into the hype. Instead, it went with a trailer that was clearly carefully put together and really well done, setting the tone from the word go. Great stuff.
FFVII for it's impact but Horizon had everything you could want from a reveal of a new IP. It had world building, introduction of protagonist, great music, tremendous spectacle and of course gameplay.
@adf86 this^
These are great!
I do like the SW:Battlefront with the office guy remembering and then jumping into an X-Wing.
Would have to be FF7 for me. A real mind blower. Literally got me out of bed to watch it at my computer after briefly waking up and checking the latest news on here during e3 lol
lol I picked the fallout 4 trailer it was a hard pick
The thing that bothers me in Ni No Kuni that Evan is apparently a boy but looks like a girl..
I picked Persona 5. I also liked UC4's Gameplay Trailer which wasn't listed in your Top 10.
I've always liked The Witcher's cinematic trailers. The Witcher 2's king assassin trailer was brilliant!
P E R S O N A 5
I voted for Horizon: Zero Dawn. For me it was by far the best Trailer. Not only was it a complete surprise and unexpected, its concept and visuals were very impressive too. Its impact left me very excited for the game.
Uncharted 4's though great, wasn't much of a surprise as we already knew the game was in production and to a degree what to expect. This was also the case with the Witcher 3 too. Both were incredible though but lacked any real 'surprise' to me.
Fallout 4, I found somewhat disappointing in some ways. I didn't think that it really showed a significant improvement from a technical standpoint over the previous game - apart from a few scenes and the wider use of colour. The dog looks so much like CoD: Ghosts Riley and I think more like last gens version too.
Detroit is just a CGi that doesn't really tell me much. Its concept isn't that original either and as I am not a fan of the development studio, the game itself at the moment isn't of interest. As a technical showpiece (as CGi videos are) its OK, but as a far as gaming goes it certainly didn't work to help me get hyped for it.
This is the reason none of the other trailers registered with me as I have no interest in those games at all and no trailer is going to convince me either!
Easily Horizon: Zero Dawn, I can't remember a better trailer for any game or movie ever
@starhops that was definitely my favorite
Where's the Division?!?!
Yeah, there were lots of great ones. The Old Hunters Bloodborne trailer was also one of my favorites, but on this poll, gotta go with Horizon. I have a feeling that game is gonna be something really special.
Horizon: Zero Dawn.
What's better trailer than a reveal with in-game engine cinematic that transition directly into gameplay demo.
Definitely the best...
