We're not kidding this time around: there really isn't anything to write about when it comes to the most recent Japanese sales charts - at least, not from a PlayStation perspective. Sony's latest console managed to stick around the 25,000-30,000 mark last week, despite a lack of fresh software. Sure, 26,598 isn't a particularly impressive number, but it's clear that the PlayStation 4's finally found some respectable stability in its homeland.
On the software side, the only thing that catches our eye is that Star Wars Battlefront managed to remain in the top five, although sales of 18,341 copies certainly isn't anything to write home about. Oh well, at least our pals over at Nintendo Life will have something interesting to say regarding those utterly ridiculous Monster Hunter numbers.

"Oh well, at least our pals over at Nintendo Life will have something interesting to say regarding those utterly ridiculous Monster Hunter numbers"
I'm picturing them, drunk as ef, calling PushSquare's HQ singing "We are the champions" at the top of their lungs and talking mad trash.
Monster Hunter is a monster!
Forget MHX, we all knew that was coming, I think 2 Wii U games at 3+4 ahead of PS4's SW:B is the bigger story. Wii U is at 20k w/ no new games either. I guess they have BF in Japan as well.
Edit - Oops, my mistake, Wii U had what must be the 87th game in that drum series which sold 10k, maybe those 10k bought a Wii U just to play it?

3DS is king in Japan obviously but man these are crazy numbers yet again, Nintendo did well to secure MH and I can't wait to play X.
What do Japanese gamers actually do with their PS4's? They never seem to buy any games, are digital sales included? If not is the digital market bug over there explaining the relatively small sales as for the Nintendo consoles people are more likely to buy physical due to Nintendo not knowing about the existence of hard drives
I am still laughing at both Animal Crossing titles being there in the top 20. But hey, Knack is in the top 40 again in UK, right?
Wow 105,000 plus on the new 3ds xl.I may need to get that also bring monster hunter x over here.
Even though I have a 3ds it seems bizzare to me that Monster Hunter is not on Vita. The device is ideal for those games with the dual sticks and big screen. The absence of the second stick on 3ds and the bad small stick on New 3ds make playing games like those hard. Monster Hunter helped the PSP could have done the same with the Vita.
@belmont Because the 3DS has a bigger install base and costs less money to develop for :/
1.4 million!!! Wow.
At that rate xbox one needs to sell for 2369 weeks with a pack in game just to match the sales.
