Star Ocean 5 Delays Its Adventures on PS4, PS3

The stars aren't out tonight

Star Ocean 5: Integrity and Faithlessness has been looking pretty promising lately, so it's a bit of a shame to hear that it's been delayed in Japan. The role-playing game, which features hectic, action-based combat, was previously slated for release on the 25th February, but the launch date's now been pushed back to the 31st March.

According to an official post by publisher Square Enix - kindly translated by Gematsu - the title needs to be polished, and the delay will allow for this. Of course, the potential knock-on effect is that we'll be waiting a little longer for a confirmed Western release date - but we'd imagine that it's still on track for its 2016 window.

At least it's not a terribly long delay like Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Still think this game will be mediocre though, I can't remember the last good entry in the series.

phew... I thought it's a longer delay... I can wait another month or two for a more polished game

i'm fine with delays

i would rather have a game delayed and working properly rather than having a game rushed out and being broken ala Assassin's Creed Unity which ruins your whole experience with the game

@Gamer83 My first Star Ocean game was Til the End of Time (#3) and I absolutely adored it, must have re-played the game at least 5 times.

Also liked 4: Last Hope and Second Story. I havent played much of SO1 yet so cant review it

It's really disappointing, I bought SO3 used, but apparently the game has some weird loading technology which gets all messed up the second either your PS2 or disk has even minor wear & tear, it took between 2-3 minutes to load a single battle, which obviously is rather unusable. It's a shame too cus the game did seem really good. I loved Star Ocean Second Story on the PS1.
