While PlayStation Experience 2015 is only just getting started for attendees, the keynote is now over. Sony used its last big show of the year to show some more Final Fantasy VII Remake, announce Ni no Kuni 2, and reveal that a lot of games are out today. It's also worth remembering that the first batch of PlayStation 2 titles will be available from the PlayStation Store starting later today, too.
But were you impressed with what the platform holder had to offer, or did its briefing disappoint? Which announcements excited you, and which could you have done without? Take part in our poll and then post your kneejerk reactions in the comments section below. Oh, and stay tuned to Push Square where we'll have all of the news throughout the weekend.

Where are the Sony developed titles by its affiliates.......
Not gonna lie. Kinda disappointed that the Level-5 game was not Dark Cloud 3.
Best part was Day of the Tentacle for me.
I expected a 'meh' and that's what we got. I'd be annoyed but E3 and TGS were so great so whatever. The only real annoyance is we're still waiting to find out what Bend is doing. If nothing is announced tomorrow, WTF?!
My favorite part of the show was the Ratchet & Clank demo. Looks awesome, can't wait to play it. And it was great to see Ted Price back on the PlayStation stage, maybe things aren't as bad between the two companies as I've been thinking.
yes, yes it did
also FFVII REMAKE GAMEPLAY oihwdoqhodqsjbsbsjhlkhk
excuse me while i change my underwear
Literally non-stop games and FF7 news with a release of HD today? Errr yes it did, and then some. Whens the store updating?!
Wow, @_get2sammyb was on top of a quick article!
I was pleasantly surprised at all the mentions and games coming to Vita. A handful of really powerful trailers amid awkward VR presentations and a horrible ending.
But overall, I think the future for PlayStation looks very bright.
Overall fairly meh. HOWEVER, Ni No Kuni 2 absolutely made it for me, it looks absolutely incredible!!!
Now, hurry up and get Bastion vita, Dark Cloud, Rogue Galaxy and FFVII HD up on the EU store!
Still not interested in VR, but there were some really cool games shown, so it was a good one in my books.
The only thing that was in the excellent category for me was ff7 remake footage. The rest was all pretty meh and they were trolling with the crash shirt and the "you want one more video?" Closer.
FF7 and Ratchet and Clank were highlights for me.
Don't care about VR in the slightest. Too much time spent on that for me.
So happy to see Ni No Kuni getting a sequel!! (it was 1 of my favourite game on ps3) And it looks good to so I'm very happy.
I would vote for very good with some first party games, but Ni No Kuni II was a excellent and extremely surprising good announcement.
I was overall pleased with the games shown, but displeased with the lack of first party, particularly Bend. and I wished that Level 5 brought out Dark Cloud 3 or Rogue Galaxy 2, because of the copyright renewal I saw last night for both franchises.
Ni No Kuni 2 is a legendary announcement, the first was the only exclusive that made me want a PS3, love Studio Ghibli, now we just need the first as a remaster or at least on PS NOW!!
I thought the showing was pretty great! I'm bummed they focused too much on VR and indies though. There are quite a few indies I'm interested in now though! VR I'm a little more open to. Final Fantasy 7 Remake footage and Ni No Kuni 2 were highlights! I'm very interested in Koei's new IP as well. It look similar to Dark Souls, but with a very samurai vibe to it. I think there needed to be way more first party announcements though... Where the hell is Bend's "big game" they keep going on?! Where was God of War at, damn it?! Last Guardian?! Horizon?! And don't even get me started about the Crash Bandicoot tease... 😡 But it was a good event overall. I'd give it a solid B.
Ratchet and Clank & Revenant Kingdom Ni No Kuni 2 where the highlights for me didn't expect an announcement for Ni No Kuni 2.
Very pleased by the announcement of No No Kuni 2. I wasn't expecting it at all! Was good to see some footage from the remake of Final Fantasy VII, too.
Overall a good show with lots of games. I didn't think they would show a new God of War or the Sony Bend game because they have to save stuff for next year's shows.
It's no secret I've been very critical of Sony in the last 12 or so months.
However, I think my opinion is going to swing the other way very quickly - this year's PSX was excellent.
For me, the games on offer were a perfect balance of reliable hands and fresh, new experiences.
Final Fantasy VII Remake looks bloody fantastic (thank god Square Enix chose a real-time battle system), and I was pleasantly surprised by Uncharted 4's dialogue system (ND doing something new? Praise!). Ni No Kuni II looks incredible, too.
I also loved the VR lineup. The whacky concepts reminded me of Sega's glory days, and proved that innovation isn't dead. The indie games also looked brilliant. It was new stuff - and I wholeheartedly welcomed it!
Minor quibbles; I didn't like Epic's non-game CGI trailer clogging airtime, and the Rez video went for too long. Also, no Final Fantasy XII HD. Again.
Overall though, I was very pleased. I've now decided that PS4 is finally worth buying, and will pick one up sometime next year.
Good job, Sony!
Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank, Rez, FFVII, yes.
Everything else was terrible.
What were they thinking!?!?!? That SFV part was cringe worthy, hearing the bearded fella and his mate try desperately to muster enthusiasm for 2 year old PC ports of browser games? Pointless. The VR segment was a joke, some point and click games that were no fun the first time, then closing on a @^$&$&ing MOBA!?!?!?
Good lord. I want the last 2 hours of my life back.
Oh and Ghibli is just disney for hipsters. Shrill, irritating, emo nonsense. Yawn.
@Kage_88 With you on the FFXII bro, alongside with VII for my favourite, will love it if that is defo confirmed!!!
I would say good but not great. Capcom finally announced SF 3 characters on SFV!
FFVII looks nice, so does Ratchet. Cant believe so many people fell for Yawn Layden's shirt.
I voted meh not so much for the content but the pacing seemed off.
Remember near the beginning where that guy came on stage and said - "We started with that, so you can only imagine what we have next." But there was no next, ever.
Too much VR. Too many indies. Not enough - this is what the PS4 is capable of. I get they didn't want to show Horizons or Dreams again, but after Uncharted nothing really looked like The Order or Blood borne or Killzone. It was almost entirely 2D or cell shaded after Ratchet and Clank.
Oni was really funny, and COD lady was loud, but nobody else had stage presence.
I know Vita people should vote at least GOOD system got mentioned a little.
Hob looks good, and that game which looked like a cross between Tron bikes and Gauntlet, but not much else. Glad to see NNK2, but I would have offered Dark Cloud 3 or Rogue Galaxy 2, NNK2 didn't look that much better than the first on PS3.
Final Fantasy VII, R&C, Uncharted 4 & Ni No Kuni 2. That's it, that's all that was worth staying for. Worse than Paris Game Show. So much VR & Indies. How can you end a show like that?
E3 >>>> TGS >>> PGS > PSX. I did say third party would take precedence.
@kyleforrester87 updated now, and FFVII HD comes with a free theme.....which has all the FFVII menu sounds effects and sets your background music to fricking AERITH'S THEME (the awesome piano collections version)!!!
This download needs to hurry up...
Really dissapointed. No GOW, no Bend, VR tech demo was a disaster -AND WHERE THE F*** WAS SHU???????
@Punished_Boss_84
They blew their load at E3 and TGS. Sadly I think we all knew this wasn't going to be a super great show and it wasn't.
@Zombie9ers language mate.
It started off great, then took a pretty big nosedive after that. There were some cool moments here and there, but I expected a much stronger ending.
@SteveButler2210 Yeah I got on it myself! 500mb, it's not that quick is it. Couple of hours I reckon but at least I'll be able to have a bash tonight.
What do I expect? Low detail high res character models running round on blury backdrops, but yay!
@Johnnycide " Ni No Kuni is Frozen for hipsters."
Or, you know, just people who like really good JRPGs?
Goddamit, just realised I've been getting Dark Cloud and Dark Chronicle the wrong way round
Also the PSN servers must be riddled with people downloading FFVII, because it's only 4GB but taking forever even on my fiberoptic wifi...
Uncharted and FF7R footage was all for me. Rest I didn't care about. Where's my DQ11 localization announcement SE/3rdPP?
@SteveButler2210 Hmm I'm 1gb in actually with 60 minutes left, it's speeding up.
@Johnnycide ^edited sorry
A bit disappointed there wasn't the rumoured Demon's Souls remaster but oh well. FFVII Remake looked fantastic and was the only game I wanted to be shown. Some of the indie games in that reel looked pretty interesting. Would have liked a release date and price on the VR headset though. Overall it was good, lots of games shown.
@kyleforrester87 3 in now! Passing the time by building the hype playing some FFVII music on the piano (I have both the OST and Piano Collections sheet music books)
@Zombie9ers no worries bud. I'm fine with it but the mods here like to keep the language clean, so thought I'd give you a heads up. No apology necessary
@Kellanved you know what, I could have phrased that better. I'll edit it now.
@Neolit I know, right? Of they'd have ended with the first five minutes I'd have a different attitude, but all momentum was lost as soon as CoD lady started waffling about exclusivity. It's not something to be proud of, you're forcing people to buy stuff they don't want. Kids as well. Shameful.
FFVII and Ni No Kuni 2 enough said. Awesome show, apparently some other stuff happened but I can't remember
PS I need that FFVII theme now @SteveButler2210 😃😃😃
Ni No Kuni 2 such a suprise its made my weekend. Spent so many hours on the first game and still have a lot of love for it
AND I'M IN. Back to midgar XD
@SteveButler2210 Yeah I'm impressed with this. Changed my aspect ratio on the TV slightly, love the general increased speed of the game and the graphics look fine.
After Bravely Default, "battles off" and ability to increase battle speed is also a big plus. Now you can grind when you want to grind and just enjoy the game when you dont.
Game on!
I boted good just for the atmosphere. I'm planning on going next year because I like how a keynote like this is celebrated as a party, instead of having hundreds of cynical people sitting in an arena waiting for games to criticize, you just have fans cheering everything on.
I hope Nintendo and Xbox will follow suit with their own experience, because I for one like this way better than E3 and Gamescom; I hope the importance will even grow so PSX will see the biggest reveals...imagine the madness if the e3 reveals were held back to present here, half of the audience would be crying.
Very poor. Started with the best (Uncharted 4) and was all downhill from there. Not a single other title of any interest to me. Good job there's already several announced games I want next year.
@kyleforrester87 loving it so much! Totally won round by the updated sprites too, and for me it all looks fantastic even blown up massive on the projector!!
Good to see PS2 games arriving and news about FFVII remake and Uncharted 4.
I'm not sure how anyone could dislike it. We've seen Ace Combat get back on track after an embarrassing attempt to court the Xbox audience, we've seen actual gameplay of the FFVII remake, we've seen an exclusive JRPG fan favourite get a lavishly produced sequel, we've seen the cult favourite Yakuza get another release on PS4, we've seen another character for the console exclusive SFV which is basically going to be the major game played the the fighting game community for the next half a decade and more.
People complain that PSVR is going to be a little flirtation from Sony that doesn't go anywhere, then complain when the company actually spends time on talking about it. I'm not sure if this is a cross-pollination of idiots from other sites who are trying to do damage control but there was really nothing here to complain about and lots to get excited about for a wide variety of tastes.
@Johnnycide Getting a few DLC packs earlier isn't really forcing anyone to do anything. It's not as bad as when, say, Microsoft paid for Tomb Raider for a year or when Nintendo outright bought Monolith, a company who'd made their previous games on Playstation. In fact, there's lots and lots of reasons to get a PS4 and very few reasons to get an Xbone; the only people that have really been "forced" to do anything are Xbone owners - I hope Halo 5 lasts them a long time. This isn't like a Nintendo console where you buy it just so you can play 2 or 3 games and then never use it again (Xenoblade and Zelda, I'm looking at you).
Not quite sure how most people found the keynote to be 'Good'. No Shu. No first party games. No heavily rumoured name change. For me thats what the conference need to make par with last years keynote.
Whatever happened to Deep Down and Let it Die?
Did those get cancelled?
@Paranoimia Not one that tickled your fancy other than Uncharted? There was a lot of variety in there, surely there was something that you at least thought "could be cool"?
What are you looking forward to next year out of interest?
@get2sammyb Nope, not a single thing. Certainly nothing jumped out at me, anyway. I'd be hard pressed to even tell you the names of more than a couple.
I've got a bit of a backlog to clear at the moment. I still need to platinum Uncharted 2 and 3 from the Collection, I've got more to do on Driveclub, then I need to get back to Dying Light and Watch_Dogs (both picked up late), and I've picked up Just Cause 3.
I still need to pick up Until Dawn, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, and SOMA. The stuff currently on my list for next year (or whenever): The Division (if they don't screw it up), No Man's Sky, Detroit, Rime, The Witness, Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last Guardian, and WILD.
So there's still more than enough to keep me busy. Just disappointed that there was nothing stellar announced at their own show.
@Matroska that's the thing, I'm thinking of Xbone owners and PS4 owners. Nintendo will always have their exclusives because without them, well... who would buy a wii U without them?
I'm at the age where many of my friends have kids who have one console. They miss out on games or content due to exclusivity deals as their parents can't afford to buy them both. That's the problem I have. I'm not saying one platform is above another with this at all, Sony have SFV, MS have Tomb Raider etc, and it's anti consumer. That's what it is. I can see why they do it, but it has no effect other than people losing out.
Only Ni No Kuni 2 was interesting for me.
And I am still waiting for a reason to buy the VR. Didn't see a game which tells me that I really need the VR. As long as there are no games like Fallout, the Witcher or some shooters like CoD and Plants vs Zombies GW, there is no reason for me to buy an expensive VR thing.
Edit
I forgot the Fat Princess, instant buy for during my X-Mas holiday.
@Paranoimia Fair enough. No interest in Final Fantasy? Yakuza? Ni No Kuni?
My only surprise was that they didn't mention PS2 on PS4, just snapped up Dark Cloud, Rogue Galaxy and FFVII from the PS4 store earlier. For me that's a 'big thing', thought it would get at least a couple of minutes on the stage including plans for future titles.
Was somewhat underwhelming. Uncharted, R&C, Yakuza, SFV, KOFXIV, FFVII Remake, Ni No Kuni 2, and Nioh looked great. The indies failed to grab my attention and the VR demo was a disaster. There was also a lack of 1st party stuff.
That being said, there's a lot to look forward to next year. Gravity Rush Remastered, Gravity Rush 2, No Man's Sky, Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last Guardian, Uncharted, R&C, SFV, etc.
@get2sammyb Nope. Had the original FF7 on PS1 and it's the game that turned me off of JRPGs - played it for several hours and couldn't stand it. I've no interest in most Japanese games, not sure why... generally they just don't appeal to me on any level.
Ni No Kuni 2!!!!!!
Seems like there is a big show every 3-4 months these days. I'm surprised they manage to wow us at all really!
Voted good: I really liked it
i thought most of the indie games looked great!
Uncharted 4 and R&C looking great as usual
The VR stuff was REALLY awkward but 100 Ft Robot Golf was a highlight for me some of the other VR games looked interesting too, wish they would give us a price and date for PSVR already
Double Fine and Ni no Kuni 2 were the biggest highlights
I think we can all agree that the ending was quite disappointing
Overall i thought it was a good show that at least started off great it was better then The Game Awards imo, unlike a lot of you guys I'm not that hard to please.
I was definitely disappointed they didn't show anything from God of War 4 or Sony Bend tho.
@Matroska "In fact, there's lots and lots of reasons to get a PS4 and very few reasons to get an Xbone; the only people that have really been "forced" to do anything are Xbone owners - I hope Halo 5 lasts them a long time. This isn't like a Nintendo console where you buy it just so you can play 2 or 3 games and then never use it again (Xenoblade and Zelda, I'm looking at you)."
Ridiculous.
First, aside from first party offerings, Xbox One has basically all the games PS4 has. It also has games like Master Chief Collection, Sunset Overdrive, Forza 6, Rare Replay, Killer Instinct, Dead Rising 3, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Gears of War Remastered - and yes - Halo 5. It's also getting Scalebound, Quantum Break, ReCore, Gears 4 and Sea of Thieves.
And gee whiz, I guess my Nintendo consoles are magical, because I certainly have more than "2 or 3" games for each one. Less fanboy dribble next time, eh?
@Kage_88 No it doesn't. It doesn't have One Piece Pirate Warriors 3, Dragon Quest Heroes, Tales of Zestiria, Omega Quintet, Toukiden Kiwami, Guilty Gear Xrd, Disgaea 5 or Blazblue Chronophantasma. That's just going off my personal collection. The Wii U doesn't have any of them either, by the way.
Putting the Master Chief Collection up there is only equivalent to the Uncharted Collection, a game you just discounted quite happily by saying "No first party". Rare Replay is a ROM collection, every single game appearing elsewhere. That's not much of an exclusive. It'd be like if Sony released Zool and Marble Madness on a disc and called it an exclusive. Killer Instinct is a dreadful fighting game novelty, it doesn't hold a candle to games like GG and BB, or the upcoming SFV. The irony is that you need to be a fanboy to care about that game, as well as counting a paid, timed exclusive (RotTR) as something to boast about.
Nintendo are only propped up by fanboys, hence the terrible sales figures, especially outside of the US where most of their fanboys are. The Xbone is treading water and depending on people like you to lap up ROM collections and timed exclusives. If most people really cared about Halo or Gears, the Xbox wouldn't be in this sad state where Microsoft are too embarrassed to mention sales figures.
Man, the expectations of gamers is way out of whack these days. A wide variety of diverse, interesting games across several genres and people cry that the one game they're waiting for doesn't get a mention. Whoop-de-damn-do. You'll be able to play whatever you want to play at some point in the future so why be all snarky and negative. Gaming is for everyone and there is something for everyone. Show closed on a MOBA so it's the worst thing ever? If you couldn't get something out of this show I think the problem is with you and not Sony.
@DopeSamurai I agree, 100ft Robot Golf looked great. Kinda reminiscent of Ninja Golf on Atari.
It wasn't bad, but there was way too much VR stuff that don't interest me in the slightest.
The one surprise that truly got me was Ni No Kuni II.
not even a first party AAA announcement.... where is the great old PS3 days full of 1st party exclusives games??
