Yakuza 6 is the first entry in SEGA's seedy series to be developed exclusively for the PlayStation 4, and this tech trailer demonstrates just how far the visuals have advanced as a consequence. Shown during a 10th anniversary commemoration event in a Tokyo theatre overnight, the video gives us a good look at Kamurocho's rain stricken streets, as protagonist Kazuma Kiryu kicks the crap out various gangster goons.
The lighting is particularly impressive, and apparently the project is only 60 to 70 per cent complete, so there's plenty of room for further improvements. According to director Toshihiro Nagoshi, the studio's building this game around the idea of "freedom", and we get a glimpse of that in the clip as the Dragon of Dojima is shown jumping across roof tops and squeezing through gaps. The demo will be included with PS4 copies of Yakuza Kiwami next year.

Wow!
@get2sammyb
Is your yakuza radar thoroughly switched on
@gingerfrog It's always on, man.
I have never played Yakuza. Maybe I should start.
This shouldn't be allowed - I propose a ban on all Yakuza related stories until we actually get the latest instalment.
@ShogunRok Good luck with that hey @get2sammyb
I. Need. This. Holy sh*t this is gorgeous

Yeah this looks current gen. So yakuza 0 is coming to ps4 and yakuza 5 is just released on PS3? So when do they expect to release 6? This is a confusing franchise. I would wait for 6 vs getting a PS3 1/2 game with yakuza 5.
Wow this looks amazing, just another 3 years before a European release 😯
Wow, I just downloaded Yakuza 5 yesterday which took forever but I finally got it. I Yakuza 6 gets released outside of Japan. At least there is Yakuza Zero.
Almost looks too good to be true
@Ewflex SEGA stopped localising it which is why we're so behind. Yakuza 6 isn't out until the end of the year in Japan.
Yakuza has always had really good detailing on characters and junk but the backgrounds usually look crummy, either way i'm loving yakuza 5.
Having spent a large amount of (mostly poorly behaved) time in Kabukicho (the real life Kamuracho), this looks incredibly real (tho I've seldom seen violence). Can't wait to play!
Isn't there a HD remaster collection of 1&2 out in Japan for the WiiU?
Sega, bring that over please!
