The latest sales charts from the East are in, confirming that the last seven days have once again been pretty darn solid for the Japanese market. As expected of the season, hardware figures continued to enjoy a healthy boost, as PlayStation 4 sales increased to 65,427 units, while Vita managed a very respectable 63,811 units.
Sadly, there's not much to talk about in terms of new software. The latest Gundam game, Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme VS-Force, launched on Vita the week prior to this report, and has sold through 107,763 copies within two weeks. The game's due out in the West at some point later this year. Other than that, Fallout 4 has put in another decent shift, bringing its total sales in the Land of the Rising Sun to 178,420, which isn't bad at all.

I would like to take the time to congratulate the Xbone on finally out selling the PS vita TV for one week. Keep up the good work! 8p
Nice to see Fallout top of the PS4 pile
I wonder why the X1 saw a 50%+ increase from the week prior with no game in the top 20?!
@Dodoo Maybe stores were doing buy one get one free.
@ShogunRok haha!
Whoa, the Bone is really taking off! Look out Japan!
Neat - At least the japanese enjoy variety unlike us Brits.
Splatoon is a beast. Not my kind of game, but I'm glad it's working because maybe it means more risks from Nintendo in the future that may appeal to me.
And interestingly, all the PS4 games are Western properties. So there goes the excuse I always hear from Xbox fanboys about 'the Japanese don't like American products.' They do, but you have to make it appealing. I actually like the Xbox One a lot but there's something about it that has never clicked in Japan and that's a bad job on the part of MS' Japanese branch that it has never been able to figure out how to sell people on the brand.
Thats three really good sales weeks for ps4 and ps vita. Hopefully ps4, ps vita have a real strong 2016. Both system are amazing and deserve to sell well.
@JoeBlogs
Could be. But you could also say the same about North America then, why not buy American? Make the product appealing, do some market research and people will buy.
