Terrific looking indie slide-'em-up shooter Not a Hero is coming to PlayStation 4 on the 2nd February - as we've literally just reported - but there's some sad news buried under the celebrations. Indeed, the Vita version of the game's been cancelled.
The disappointing news comes from developer Roll7's official blog, which, in a rather humorous post, states that the studio had trouble getting the release to run properly on Sony's handheld device. "In the end, we tried simply copying the whole game onto a 3.5" floppy disk and jamming it into the back of the Vita, but this caused dangerous overheating and one of our test kits exploded, killing the entire NOT A HERO Vita Programming team in a fully upsetting and totally avoidable fireball of nasty burning," it says. Rest in pieces, etc.
Still, even with the comedic dressing, it's a bit crap that we won't be able to slaughter goons on the go. Is this something that you'd rather play on a portable console? Cap us square in the knees in the comments section below.

Nooooooooòooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Gutted. This is exactly the kind of game I love to play on my Vita and exactly the kind of game I don't bother with on my PS4!
Poor vita - not powerful enough to run pixel based games....
@themcnoisy It's just that either, it's the time and money they have is limited.
Yeah, it would be instabuy on vita, but I really won't make time for it on ps4. What a shame
So what exactly they tried to do - emulate PS4 on Vita? Their reasoning is laughable. Say it out loud that you dont want to spend money/time on a proper port and be done with it.
Bad news, but I dont like games of these devs
