Sony don't care that it's January and you're broke like a yo-yo without a piece of string – it's sale time in North America, and you're going to hand the organisation your one remaining thruppence. The platform holder's launched a new 'Essentials' sale which has seen the prices plunge on a slew of PlayStation 4 titles.
Highlights include Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag at $14.99, while DriveClub will cost you just $19.99. The Grand Theft Auto games – ported from the PlayStation 2 to the PlayStation 4 – have also seen their asking fees slashed, as the remastered Metro games drop to new lows of $5.99 apiece. You'll need a PlayStation Plus sub to make the most of these offers – but you've got one of those, right?
Of course, the PS4 isn't the only platform getting some of the sale sugar: Grand Theft Auto IV will cost you just $3.99 on the PlayStation 3, while Persona 4: Golden can be yours for $8.99 as well. It's a strong lineup with a lot of worthwhile deals, and you'll be well advised to point your peepers at the full roster through here. Just remember to check back and tell us what you bought.

Always some sweet deals on psn, now just throw a fifty percent off banner saga and it's all good....
My wallet isn't going to be happy now.
wow, what a deal(s). But I'm only picking up Chrono Trigger because I have everything else I want.
Grabbed metro redux, have never played the metro games but hear great things. For $9 Why not. Was tempted by project cars digital and inquisition, but I've got both on disc. Plus I'm still waiting for the whole 24hr lemans with your friends thing they mentioned prior to launch. Was a big selling point for a few of my friends and I to have a true 24hr lemans or get a team going and each of us take shifts which it had also sounded like in interviews was possible.
my wallet will be just fine, i think the ps4 just needs more games, better games.
Why Sony, why! I'm trying to save for VR
The ones I'd be interested in I already have but there's some great deals in there. inFamous: Second Son for $10 is an easy recommendation to anybody who hasn't played it yet.
What again was the reason the Pal region doesn't have games like Chrono Trigger? Sure, there's right management, but I'm pretty sure they can sorry that out with a 20 y.o. game.
$9 for P4G huh? Reason enough to buy a PS TV imo, they go for as little as $25- $30 on the second hand market.
Come on Sony, put these savings on the UK site also. Please lol
Wow, P4G is on sale in the EU store at the moment and still costs almost double that!
To be fair, it's worth it at either price, so people should buy it either way. But still...
Oh well, after upgrading to a 64GB Vita card I've had my old one sitting around which I planned to use with my US account for games I can't get in the UK. Both Chrono games AND Xenogears on sale? Yes please! Now if only they would put Jeanne d'Arc on sale.
@BigDaddyT0101 I played through both games late last year and really enjoyed them. I recommend playing them in survivor mode, as they provide a good change of pace from your normal fps games that way. It's the little touches that impressed me most, like how there is a button for wiping the dirt off your gas mask!
The US sales in general seem to be a lot better than EU deals definatly time for me to get US account sorted so I can buy games
I bought NFS Rivals and InFamous Second Son. So cheap I couldn't resist!
While I was at it I also picked up Driveclub (cars, bikes, and season pass). Not on sale but while I'm pulling on the backlog... Why not?
Decent sale but dont compare it to current EU sale. In EU we normally get better discounts than that overpriced January sale we got now
Always when I'm broke.......
@Gamer83 I was going to pick up 2nd Son for $10 even though I don't have a PS4 yet, but then I saw it was only $20 normally, so I'll wait. I'm used to Nitneod pricing, Lego City Undercover is still $50 on the eShop and that came out a full year earlier.
Wallet safe again.
I wasn't going to buy anything this time around, but end up with Metro Redux and Saints Row for the PS4 because the price was so low for two great games... And Parasite Eve and Xenogears for the Vita. What can I do, I love me some old school games on the handheld
