Spotify PlayStation Music PS4 PlayStation 4 1

It takes a brave company to ditch its own service and replace it with a competitor's, but Sony's been daring virtually all generation. We all knew that binning Qriocity – or whatever it was called – in favour of Spotify was a darn good idea, but corporations can be proud entities, and we doubt that many of you would have bet on the Japanese giant actually doing it. Fortunately, it did.

And 11 million downloads later, PlayStation Music featuring Spotify – as it's awkwardly named – remains arguably the best app on the PlayStation 4. To be honest, it's crazy to think that while the PlayStation 3 famously didn't feature any universal background audio features, the PS4 allows you to stream from a catalogue of millions of songs on-demand – for free, as well.

Sadly, it turns out that while the PlayStation community has racked up a whopping 190 million hours of listening, our collective tastes aren't very good. We've included the most streamed songs from 2015 below, but before you gag over that, we'll point out that FIFA 15, NBA 2K16, and Destiny were the most played games in conjunction with the app. So, here's what everyone was listening to:

  1. 679 (feat. Remy Boyz) — Fetty Wap
  2. Know Yourself — Drake
  3. Nasty Freestyle — T-Wayne
  4. See You Again (feat. Charlie Puth) — Wiz Khalifa
  5. Hotline Bling — Drake
  6. Trap Queen — Fetty Wap
  7. Watch Me (Whip / Nae Nae) — Silentó
  8. Post to Be (feat. Chris Brown & Jhene Aiko) — Omarion
  9. B**** Better Have My Money — Rihanna
  10. The Hills — The Weeknd

We'll now present to you Push Square Towers' most streamed songs of 2015:

  1. All Night Long (All Night) — Lionel Ritchie
  2. Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!! — Vengaboys
  3. The Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum) — The Cheeky Girls
  4. C'est La Vie — B*Witched
  5. Cotton Eye Joe — Rednex
  6. Agadoo — Black Lace
  7. The Shoop Shoop Song (It's in His Kiss) — Cher
  8. Gangster's Paradise — Coolio
  9. S Club Party — S Club 7

At least some PlayStation owners have taste, eh?
