Valkyria Chronicles Remaster Seems Picture Perfect on PS4

A beautiful war

Another in a long list of games that we're desperate to see make the journey overseas, Valkyria Chronicles Remaster is an enhanced re-release of the rather good PlayStation 3 strategy title. Featuring a storyline and setting heavily influenced by war-torn Europe, the original game built up an incredibly enthusiastic fanbase who went on to support its often forgotten handheld sequels.

The remaster itself is due out in just under a month in Japan, and as you'd expect, it looks great. Sure, its newest trailer isn't particularly lengthy, but seeing that gorgeous art style has got us hankering for some character based tactical action. Still no news on an EU version? Might have to import it if the Japanese version supports English.

I'm very curious about this game. Missed it last gen, almost picked it up a few times recently. But now I hope this version comes our way! Or that there is English in the Japan release. Still haven't imported any PS4 games yet though

You can't go wrong with graphics that have this specific art style but I'll be picking it up if it does come to Europe. I love this series.

I tried to get into this game some years ago. I thought it was alright, but I didn't get it far at all. I wouldn't mind trying again on PS4.

I have a hard time imagining what the gameplay is like (RTS, adventure, RPG?). I'll definitely keep an eye out for this one.

I want the option to play games like this the same way I prefer to watch my anime, in Japanese with English subs.

This is a turned based RPG, think XCOM or Fire Emblem just with free movement instead of cubed movement. Also you aim manually.

It's basically a Third Person Shooter meeting a Turned Based Strategy. Really fun game.

It's more similar to code name S.T.E.A.M. Which was produced by intelligent systems who also produced fire emblem.

@PokemonJustin @Radbot42 I looked up some gameplay footage. It's indeed somewhat like STEAM, at least, from what I've seen of that game. I'm intrigued, definitely willing to try this game out if it comes to the west.
