DOOM has had some decent hype behind it ever since it made its gameplay debut back at Bethesda's E3 2015 press conference, but things have been a little quiet over the last few months with regards to the shooter in general. Indeed, one thing that we're still missing is confirmed release date, but thanks to a possible Amazon France leak, we may just have a quiet Friday news story on our hands.
Twitter user @MasterGamer24680 discovered the potential launch date yesterday and nabbed a screenshot, but the information on the product page has since been removed. In any case, the supposed leak had the game tagged for release on the 30th June 2016, which at least seems reasonable.
What do you reckon? Would you be happy to sweat your time away this summer by playing hours and hours DOOM? Blow us away in the comments section below.

If it plays and feels close to what Wolfenstein TNO achieved, I'll get it.
I hope so! It's been forever since I've been hyped for a shooter!
Not really got any interest in Doom played it in its day but moved on.
@dryrain @Neolit well move back. This is looking like GOTY material. A top team, great vision and editing like Timesplitters. Brutal gameplay, cool weapons and nostalgia. Come on!!
what's going on with the Beta from buying Wolfenstein?
@viciousarcanum I've got that too!!! How does that work?
@Neolit
Too Satan!!?? It's a video game, lol, don't take it so seriously......
I'm very much looking forward to this,.....if they let you blast baddies for 20 minutes without any set pieces or cut scenes, it will be a contender for sure.
I maybe one of the 'rare' few that actually enjoyed Doom 3 but I totally understand why the original set-up probably wouldn't have worked. I hope that the next Doom as a decent 'story' driven campaign too but I have fears that it will be 'token' with the emphasis being put on its MP. I think its MP maybe 'fun' but I have a lot of 'fun' FPS MP's and this could be just another one. I think its setting is probably going to set it apart from a lot and of course the weaponry to a degree too but I am more interested in what it offers the single player.
@Neolit Well the 'roots' were great back in the day but by today's standards as gaming has evolved with technological advancements, its very, very basic. I am not referring to graphical improvements but gaming advancements themselves. Doom was basically Wolfenstein but with a different enemy type. Wolfenstein:TNO with its Nightmare, showed how far games have come. That though still had some more 'old school' elements but also many modern day elements too and mixed it all in to a good 'story'. Doom has the potential to deliver a great campaign but also be mindless and feel very dated too - even if it looks great. Doom, the original, was great in its day but it also lacked much competition either. Its not like there isn't a lot of FPS games already available and more due as well. I don't really want a gen 8 remake of Doom but something with a lot more depth and substance.
Played the alpha and absolutely loved it. Imo they've nailed the breakneck speed similar to Quake 3 but also managed to make it incredibly fun and easy to pick up for newcomers. Plus, the sound design was great. Roll on the beta!
It'll be interesting to see how this goes. Was eighteen when Doom first came along and caught my eye.
Played the Wolfenstein games recently and have to say, I enjoyed them alot. If they can marry the old school mechanic, with the newer stylings, I'll be a happy man.
Hopefully the classic double-barrelled Shotgun will be there, one of my fave weapons in gaming!
It'll be better than wolfenstein. After this we just need a new quake
Those screenshots look great.
I'm very hyped for Doom,arena style Pvp (Quake Arena yo) Its more of a balanced format than Cod/Battlefield..You must rely on gun skills alone,not exploiting unbalanced elements of gameplay..As for Single player,well fingers crossed -I'd be happy with an old fashioned ID software style campaign (not Doom 3) The Beta is penned in for "early 2016" apparently.
@BAMozzy
Judging by what they did with (the excellent) wolfenstein I'm betting the single player will be totally complete and a full offering
