Stash of Strange Coins running a bit low? Need a few more Motes of Light? Nah, who are we kidding, no one needs more Motes of Light - but Bungie's giving them away all the same. On the 7th January, the developer's dishing out some goodies in Destiny to celebrate the new year.
You'll be able to gather your 15 Strange Coins and 15 Motes of Light from the Postmaster later this week, along with a mystery emblem which will be awarded to Guardians who sign into the game at any point between the 7th and 10th January. How very generous.
Will you be jumping into Destiny to grab your freebies? Lock and load for another year of disappointing loot drops in the comments section below.

Yeah I'll take em I picked up the Taken King when it was £20 on psn yet to jump into any of the DLC yet so the strange coins will be welcome
Returned to Destiny after about a month's break. Really, it doesn't deserve all the hate it's getting. Ever since TTK launched it's been a proper game, SRL was a blast with great rewards and it seems we're getting a new January update with new content for free. The game is actually fun to play.
@AlexKidd problem is its less to do with TTK content and more to do with everything they changed, still, it's somewhat of an improvement.
I played some crucible over the weekend after a long long break, still plenty of fun. Stabbing space kids and sitting on flags is still very fulfilling.
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi it's just that people are still bashing on it and they haven't even played TTK. Yeah ok, Destiny year 1 was rough, I was there for about 700 hrs. However, they obviously received feedback and changed things accordingly. I just think people should give it a chance, it's a blast to play with friends.
Nope I gave up on this game a long time ago! Till they make it so I can get top lvl without having to do the stupid raids I'm very much not interested in this game anymore!!
@Midzark The stupidly awesome raids?
@Midzark I've never done a raid and I've levelled to the top and have some decent gear
@kyleforrester87 not if you don't have 3/4+hrs at a time with work and social life.
@GlynCR Ok sorry it's not lvl now is it, it's light.. Sorry my fault there, without the Raid weapons how do you get stronger?!
@Midzark Well if you could hit top level without dedicating time to it there would be just as many people moaning that the end game isn't long enough. I've done fair few raids with the community on here, they are the best aspect of the game. I'm not top level, 290 or something and waiting for the next expansion, but I'm at about the right level measured against the effort I've put in, so no complaints here since I'm not sure I could be bothered to grind the raids over and over again to hit a number that a) you'll zip past once the next expansion drops and b) doesn't matter anyway. There are a few other ways to get 300+ light gear anyway i.e Iron Banner, SLR if raids really don't work for you but you still really want to hit top level.
I'll probably jump in for a few hours - not that I need the SC or MoL. I haven't really played since they introduced the SRL - partly because of that, partly because (on XB1 specifically) the only meaningful gear is achievable in the Hard Raid only and I can't be bothered to try and find randomers on PS4 as a lot don't talk and a lot quit too meaning you have spend ages trying to find a replacement.
I really do think Destiny needs some substantial Dark Below/House of Wolves content rather than all these pathetic and pointless 'events' - particularly for those of us who don't play PvP (Iron Banner, Trials of Osiris)
15 motes of light. Really!?! Oh well better than an exotic engram that turns into a mote of light and a strange coin i suppose.
@Draythedestroyer Oh yeah.. That thing that was changed 7 months ago? You're a little bit late on that complaint bud.
I'm done with this game. Finished the last expansion and have no desire to return.
